Video: Pickles in Your Pocket: Bringing Runner2 to PlayStation Vita

50°
6d ago - Gaijin Games Associate Producer Dant Rambo posted up a video today announcing Runner2 for the PlayStation Vita handheld console.

To quote: Adapting a console game for a mobile platform is no walk in the Welcome Park. The reasons for this are numerous, but it ultimately boils down to an issue of faithfulness.

We can't speak for other developers - though we imagine they would agree - but we wanted our game, BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, to feel the same on the Vita as it does on the rest of its platforms.

Furthermore, we wanted to provide players everywhere with the chance to carry Unkle Dill around wherever they go. Though we've not yet finished our development of the Vita version, we're confident we've succeeded on both fronts.

For those unaware, Runner2 is a 2D platformer featuring vibrant worlds, unique characters, challenging (and rewarding!) gameplay, and the vocal stylings of Charles Martinet.

From the early planning stages to the finished product, our goal was to create a game that made people happy. If it just so happens that you're someone who likes to be happy, chances are good you'll enjoy it immensely.

Now, with the elevator pitch out of the way,...

Ragtag Studio: Ray's the Dead is Brought to Life on PlayStation 4

50°
6d ago - Ragtag Studio Co-Founder Chris Cobb is posted up a video today announcing that Ray's the Dead is brought to life on PlayStation 4!

Below are the details, to quote: This is Chris from Ragtag Studio, a small indie game developer out of Chicago.

We are giving life to a new game called Ray's the Dead! Ray's the Dead is an action adventure game where you are the leader of a zombie army. We are excited to announce that Ray's the Dead will be available as a downloadable title on PlayStation 4!

Ray's the Dead stars Raymond La Morte, a newly resurrected zombie on a quest to find out how he was killed, who killed him, and most curiously, why is there a strange light bulb sticking out of his head?

In this '80s-inspired romp, you'll get to experience the two unique stories of Ray intertwined by fate. As you terrorize American suburbia with your zombie army, you'll also uncover playable memories from Ray's life. You'll be able to experience the events that led to his untimely demise first hand!

Sounds cool, but how does it play? A bolt of lightning activates the bulb lodged into Ray's brain, giving him the power to convert and command the recently deceased into zombie minions! One by one...

Dakko Dakko: Floating Cloud God Goes HD on PlayStation Vita

50°
6d ago - Dakko Dakko Producer Dan Croucher announced today that Floating Cloud God is going HD on PlayStation Vita with details below.

To quote: Hello from Dakko Dakko! Today I'm here to talk about 'Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD!', which we're bringing to PS Vita this Summer!

This brand new Vita remake of Dakko Dakko's second game 'Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims' (originally released on PSP minis last year) comes with a set of enhancements and upgrades over the original to take advantage of its new home on Vita.

When we embarked on this version there were two things we most wanted to do - the first was a full re-mastering of the game's art to make the most of the Vita's huge screen, and the second was a new way to control Floating Cloud God.

The original 'Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims' on PSP featured beautiful artwork depicting Japanese folklore and myth, by Army of Trolls' Gary Lucken (http://www.armyoftrolls.co.uk). Drawn as pin-sharp vectors, the art was a perfect fit for the Vita.

It was great to go back to the original images and re-create all the sprite sheets at double the size (to match the Vita's resolution), and the results were amazing. Below is an image showing just how much better...

Video: Blacklight: Retribution New Trailer, FPS and F2P on PS4

50°
1w ago - Zombie Studios Communications Manager Collin Moore shared a new video trailer today showcasing FPS and F2P on PS4 in their upcoming PlayStation 4 title Blacklight: Retribution below.

To quote: Summer is upon us and another E3 is here! Even with the unusually sunny skies here in Seattle the last couple months, we here at Zombie Studios have been hard at work on getting Blacklight: Retribution ready to be playable on the show floor at E3 2013.

When we announced Blacklight: Retribution on PS4 a couple months ago, we knew we had to be on the E3 show floor. We instantly set a goal to get the game running and be ready for E3.

After a number of long weeks, lots of dinners in the office, and a new coffee machine, we are thrilled to have Blacklight: Retribution playable for everyone in attendance.

For those unfamiliar with Blacklight: Retribution, it's an action-packed free-to-play first-person shooter that allows you to customize your character in millions of ways.

You can change every aspect of your weapon from the barrel, scope, muzzle, and receiver. Want to make your character feel like your character? Alter them anyway you want, swapping out everything from individual pieces of armor to their accessories to cosmetic items that show your elite status.
