Players awake inside an abandoned hospital, with only the light of their cellphone to guide them through the thick black. But unlike other horror games, Daylight changes every time you play.
To better understand Daylight, and the scares within, we asked Zombie Studios Creative Director Andre Maguire to explain how the game came together and why procedurally generated scares give the horror genre a shot in the arm. Maguire also tells us about developing on PS4, and what inspirations fueled the team members in their creative process.

Sure, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Driveclub, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, Resogun, and the like were all present, correct, and looking very shiny. But if you were after something truly fresh out of the oven, pickings were slim.
There were a handful of exceptions, of course: Yakuza Ishin from Sega (as yet unconfirmed for a Western release), the very sexy looking Soul Sacrifice Delta on PS Vita, and Deep Down - Capcom's ambitious PS4 exclusive.

In addition to the emotion in the context of a match, great goals are achieved by either (or both) great finishing and fantastic build up play.
The major changes and innovations we're bringing into gameplay this year enable players to create and feel those exhilarating moments that happen when they've assembled plays their own way through midfield.
Finishing is both earned and rewarding in FIFA 14. We're transforming the tempo of the game and inspiring players to build possession through midfield rather than sprint down the wings during box-to-box matches. Last year it was too easy to fall down into creating the same cheap chances over and over again.
Major changes to dribbling - with new features like Protect the Ball, Sprint Dribble Turns, and Variable Dribble Touches - create more of a midfield battle, and make the magical moment of a goal more rewarding.

To quote: Tearaway is a game set in a papery world, which means that if you wanted to, you could craft the entire game from paper in the real world - and that's exactly what we hope people will do!
To help you along your way, we've filled the game will collectible papercraft plans, which you can unlock as you journey through the world.
As you play, you'll come across creatures, plants or objects that appear to be drained of their colour. Taking a picture of them with your character's in-game camera restores their colour, and unlocks their plan.
Each plan has various different skins - blank ones, or colorful ones, so you can either make something that looks like it does in the game, or customise them to look completely different and unique to you.
The plans will be accessed on our community website, where you'll find everything you've unlocked so far, and from here you'll be able to print them out, make them, and fill your house with papercraft!
