Taking place immediately after the first game, you take control of the goddess Syrma, who meets Chou-Chou just after the end of the first game's events. Syrma is out to stop an ancient threat to her world that has recently awakened (as many threats and/or evils always seem to do in RPGs!).

Video: NIS America: Demon Gaze is Out Today on PlayStation Vita

50°
35w ago - NIS America Marketing Coordinator David Alonzo posted up a video today announcing that Demon Gaze is out today on PlayStation Vita.

To quote: Greetings, doods! It's your humble Prinny David, and I'm excited to let you know that the dungeon-crawling RPG Demon Gaze is out today in North America exclusively for PS Vita!

For the first month of the game's release, we'll also be offering free Disgaea DLC that will allow you to download character portraits of Etna, Flonne, Sicily, Asagi, and Prinny as party members.

What sort of dungeon-crawling madness can you expect from the game? Let's get right into it!

You'll play as an unnamed hero who awakes in the strange land of Misrid with no recollection of your past. You soon find out that you're no ordinary amnesiac, however, and that you're actually a Demon Gazer - someone born with the ability to control demons.

This is quite handy, because Misrid is riddled with demons who control different parts of the world. Now it's up to you to control all these demons and discover who you truly are in the process.

You're not alone in this quest, however. When you're not crawling through dungeons, you'll be spending a...

40w ago - NIS America Marketing Coordinator David Alonzo announced that Demon Gaze is coming to PS Vita on April 22nd, 2014.

To quote: Greetings, doods! I don't know about you, but after a long week at the office, I feel like a vacation's in order. I'm thinking someplace exotic that will wake me up from the daily grind, and I know just the place!

I'd like to introduce you to the warm and hospitable dungeon-crawling RPG world of Demon Gaze, which will be available for PS Vita on April 22nd. Mystery, dungeons, monsters, and demons... this place has it all for you adventurin' weekend-warrior types. So come along with me and let's take a grand tour of the world of Demon Gaze.

Demon Gaze takes place in the land of Misrid, which has terrain for every adventurer. There are ancient cities (That are on fire!) for history buffs, woodsy mazes for those who pack homemade granola in their hemp-woven satchels, and even haunted burial grounds for travelers looking for a little morbid fun.

You'll get to experience all these lands in the classic, first-person dungeon-crawling style - slashing your way through mazes and getting up close and personal with the local wildlife by engaging in bloody, turn-based battle.

Disgaea 4 is Coming to PS Vita, NISA 2014 Lineup Detailed

50°
45w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements detailed the NISA 2014 lineup today confirming that Disgaea 4 is indeed coming to PS Vita.

To quote: Last night, the small but spunky team at NIS America reminded downtown San Francisco of its dedication to quirky JRPGs and unusual adventures.

Sporting matching white and blue "Dood" jerseys, the team presented its lineup for 2014 at a local venue, with a little help from a torrent of teaser trailers. Anime in-jokes, self-referential dialogue, and explosions of color dominated the multimedia showcase, staying true to NISA's tradition of catering to otaku culture.

The evening began with NIS President Souhei Niikawa - donning a regal [Register or Login to view links] - thanking members of the press for their continued support. Niikawa also revealed that NIS is working on a PS4 game that would enjoy a proper announcement at this year's Tokyo Game Show.

His brief but humble wishes were followed with a host of trailers, each representing one of NISA's projects for the year.

Daylight on PS4: Designing the Hero, Protagonist Sarah Gwynn

50°
45w ago - Daylight Writer Jessica Chobot shared details today on designing the hero, protagonist Sarah Gwynn, in Daylight on PS4.

To quote: With the Daylight launch just around the corner, I wanted to give PlayStation.Blog readers a bit of background on our protagonist, Sarah Gwynn.

The reasons we chose to go with a female main character were twofold. The first reason being that because I was writing the game, she became (in a roundabout way) an extension of myself. I came up with the outline for Daylight based on some urban exploration I did in my high school days.

Specifically, a blighted little spot within my small Michigan town by the name of The Sheldon Buildings (officially known as the [Register or Login to view links] for Feeble Minded Children).

The Sheldon Buildings were a dilapidated set of buildings from the early 1900s linked together by a set of underground tunnels running throughout the grounds (they've since been torn down). A town within a town, the outer perimeter of the Training School was bricked-in by a 7+ foot tall wall.

Within the gates, the school hosted a hospital center, a gigantic, old-fashioned theater, dorms, an indoor and outdoor pool, its own police and fire stations, as well...
