Video: Sony PlayStation 4 Interface, PS4 Overview & Features Demo

50°
62w ago - Today ElitePixelEnemyHD has made available a 16-minute video of Sony's PlayStation 4 interface, including a PS4 overview and its features demonstrated.

Check it out below, and to quote: "We have gotten a new video which details the PlayStation 4 UI and goes in detail of the interface.

This video comes courtesy of ElitePixelEnemyHD and is unfortunately kind of blurry but it really gives an extensive tour of the PlayStation 4 UI and its various menus.

The UI looks pretty simple and clean to me. More like an evolution of PS3 UI. They also show the browser and it seems to be a step above what was on PS3.

The original video is from GamekyoLive and is a 1 hour extensive walkthrough of PlayStation 4 and its games. It also has a cleaner sound as opposed to the above video."

Finally, below is another PlayStation 4 at Gamers Day'13 PS4 Overview from Izhan Shafiq via YouTube, as follows:

To quote: "This video showing actual PS4 in a running state. Also showing some PS4 interface and The Playroom at Gamers day'13 Riyadh.. Usually in e3...

Proteus is Coming to PS3 and PS Vita Soon, New Features Detailed

50°
63w ago - Creator Ed Key announced that Proteus is coming to PS3 and PS Vita soon, and has detailed some new features in the game below.

To quote: You drift towards a pastel island where everything sings as you pass. The sky begins to darken and something in the distance catches your eye...

I'm Ed Key, one of the developers of [Register or Login to view links] along with composer David Kanaga. Proteus came out for the PC and Mac in January 2013 and had a fantastic reception from Edge, Eurogamer, IGN and many more.

For something that started out as a weird experimental project between me and David, this was pretty mind-blowing, and it's even crazier to now have the chance to bring it to PS3 and PS Vita with some brand new features that take advantage of Sony's hardware.

Proteus is something like a constantly-remixing ambient album in the form of an immersive island world. It's all about a particular feeling of wandering through nature alone, taking it in and getting pleasantly lost.

Maybe it's a little bit about magic and mortality too. Don't expect tasks and scores and checklists - perhaps Proteus lurks somewhere on the shady fringes of what it means to be a game.

With the PS Vita and PS3 versions, we've been adding new ways to engage with...

Ibb & Obb on PSN Updated, Enhanced Features and Performance

100°
66w ago - Sparpweed Creative Director Richard Boeser announced today alongside a video that Ibb and Obb on PSN has been updated complete with enhanced features and performance.

To quote: It's been about a month since we launched Ibb & Obb, our two-player, cooperative puzzle platformer.

Since the launch, we've been working on a patch to fix some bugs that players found, but also to add some features based on the feedback we got.

The most requested feature was to have indicators showing where players are when they fly off screen. Those are now in, along with d-pad support for those of you who prefer that to the analog stick. Also, we managed to improve general performance quite a bit - now everything runs at 60 FPS in full HD, with anti aliasing on.

For us, some of the most interesting things of the last month are the Let's Play videos that pop up. Often made by players that dive into the game without having played it before or knowing much about it. From a game designer point of view these videos are extremely useful.

We've seen a lot of people play during development, but it's different when players know the game is still unfinished or when they can ask you questions directly. The Let's Play videos feel more real. They show the published product and are often recorded...

Video: Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness for PS3 Dated, New Features

100°
68w ago - NIS America Marketing Coordinator David Alonzo announced that Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness will hit PS3 on October 8th in North America and has outlined the new features in a video below.

To quote: Hey, doods! Once again, it's David from NIS America with news on the latest in our fan-favorite, strategy-RPG series, Disgaea. Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness is set to launch for PS3 on October 8th in North America.

Also, for the first 30 days from the launch of Disgaea D2, a costume DLC pack for Laharl, Etna, and Flonne will be available as a free download on PlayStation Store! Isn't that something? Now, without further ado, let's get into all the juicy new details of Disgaea D2.

Disgaea D2 is a brand-new entry in the Disgaea series that takes place immediately after the first one, with Laharl being Overlord of the Netherworld. Unfortunately, no one else has gotten the memo, so he sets out on a quest with Etna and Flonne to let the denizens of the Netherworld know who's boss.

Along the way, he meets a few rebel demons that found out he's Overlord and aren't too happy about it, along with other colorful characters - including a girl claiming to be his sister!

And if trying to get some respect wasn't a dangerous enough endeavor, Laharl discovers that bigger...

Video: PS4 UI and Social Features, Shuhei Yoshida on Ease of Use

50°
68w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton shared an exclusive look at the PS4 UI and social features today led by Shuhei Yoshida on its ease of use.

To quote: One of the most memorable moments from our Gamescom press conference was surely the sight of Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida taking the gathered audience on a tour of the new PS4 user interface, live on stage, from the comfort of a big leather armchair.

If you haven't seen it yet, please do take a look at the video below to see him hop seamlessly from the PS4 home screen into a livecast of a friend playing Killzone: Shadow Fall, before joining that game and then, finally, sending a screenshot of the session straight out to his Twitter feed.

PlayStation.Blog caught up with Yoshida-san the morning after the show to go into a little more detail on the PS4 UI, and find out what he's most excited for players to see come November 15th.

PlayStation.Blog: Obviously not many people have used the PS4 UI yet, so can you tell us a little bit about how it feels?

Shuhei Yoshida: What I showed was only a...
