Sony Announces New Media Go 2.1, Enjoy Unlimited Movies on PC

To quote: We know you enjoy watching movies. And we know you enjoy watching movies on your PC.

Well, if you're looking for a way to watch the latest new releases or revisit older favorites using the Video Unlimited service, you'll want to download Sony Entertainment Network's free Media Go software.

Media Go not only allows you to purchase and watch movies on any PC, but new enhancements let you upload photos to Facebook or videos to YouTube with an easy share button. And, improved search will let you find what you're looking for even faster.

New in Media Go 2.1:

•Subscribe to podcasts using the redesigned Podcast Directory.

Stereoscopic 3D on PS3: Updated List of All 3D Games and Movies

182w ago - Today Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared an updated list of all 3D games and movies that support Stereoscopic 3D on the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: Affordable 3D gaming was a reoccurring theme at this year's PlayStation E3 keynote, whether it was the announcement of PlayStation's upcoming 3D Gaming Display and redesigned 3D glasses.

But even with more sophisticated and affordable 3D technology, we need 3D games to play and 3D movies to watch. That's where this list comes in: I've collected almost every piece of stereoscopic 3D-capable PS3 content here, from Blu-ray to PSN. If I missed a game, let me know in the comments!

Fox and Universal to Bring PlayStation Network Movies in January

209w ago - Today two more studios, namely Fox and Universal, have signed on to bring PlayStation Network movies to PS3 and PSP console users beginning this coming January.

The news comes according to a report in the Nikkei newspaper, and to quote from Variety:

"Starting in January, Fox and Universal will join Sony and Disney in supplying pics online to users of Sony PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable machines for either unlimited-time purchase or limited-time rental.

The aim is to boost use of Sony game gear with popular Hollywood titles. The exact number and titles of the pics has yet to be announced."
 

Video: Stream HD Movies Instantly with VUDU PS3 App Today!

214w ago - Sony Network Operations Americas VP Eric Lempel has announced that as of today you can officially stream HD movies instantly with the VUDU PS3 application and shared a video walkthrough below!

To quote: Last week, we announced a partnership with [Register or Login to view links] that will bring you the ability to stream thousands of movies straight from the cloud to your PlayStation 3.

Today, that announcement becomes reality as the VUDU application launches in the United States on PlayStation Network. VUDU delivers a cinema-quality movie experience in the comfort of your home theater, complete with full 1080p HD with 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus sound, and video on-demand without downloading.

No subscription is necessary to browse their library of more than 4,000 HD movies, including many new releases the same day they are released to DVD and Blu-ray.

The movies are available on-demand and you only pay for the movies that you watch. Also, when you sign up for a VUDU account, you will receive a $5.99 credit on your account for one free HD rental.
