Video: PlayStation Store Enhanced with Two New View Modes

250°
241w ago - Last year, after the complete PlayStation Store revamp, Sony allowed gamers to change the view mode of the items displayed on the PlayStation Store from just pictures to a list format.

They have now added two more modes that you can see in the video below.

To quote: "You can now view the icons in different sizes with either three, four or five per row. This will especially benefit people with giant or tiny size TVs.

If you have a small TV for instance, you may want the icons taking up extra space on the screen so they are easier to identify. Or big screen users may like the option to see more items per screen, reducing the need to scroll.

This isn't anything major of course but it is good to see that Sony are still improving the store all the time."

King of Fighters XII Getting DLC, Console-specific Modes

50°
257w ago - It looks like SNK is already preparing to outfit King of Fighters XII with DLC.

To quote: The upcoming fighting game will have additional purchased content available on the Xbox Live Marketplace (as uncovered by Siliconera) and, presumably, on PSN as well.

What that content is exactly, we don't know just yet; however, we assume this means more costumes and game modes a la Street Fighter IV. Maybe it means more characters ... like all the ones missing from the roster screen (below).

In addition to DLC, KoF XII has console-specific online modes. The PS3 version features a "Clan" mode which is not found on the 360 version (check out the image above); however, the 360 version has a "Ranked Match" option while the PS3 version does not. Hmm ... you don't think SNK would charge for these modes as paid DLC now, would it?

PAIN PS3 Smack Pack Hits PSN, Includes Darts & Fortress Modes

50°
265w ago - Today PAIN Associate Producer Jason Coker announced news of the incoming PAIN Smack Pack, which includes both Darts and Fortress Modes. To quote:

We're about to drop the Smack Pack on you (sold separately), which includes the Darts and Fortress game Modes. As I'm sure you know, traditional Darts wouldn't be suitable for PAIN. We wouldn't dare make something as simple as launching a character into an oversized dartboard.

Instead, you have to launch you character toward a giant sticky billboard with multiple bullseyes painted on it, in the process grabbing another character (or bomb) and chucking it at the billboard. Sounds simple enough, eh?

Oh, I forgot to mention the fact that your opponents have distractions to jack you up during your flight to the billboard. It makes it even more satisfying to clear the distractions and pull off a bullseye, so I hope your game is in order.

Fortress is the other half of the Smack Pack, and it pits you against up to three opponents, each of you with a giant fortress on a floating platform in the sky. On offense, your task is to aim at an opponent's fortress, launch and grab an exploding object, and chuck it at their fortress to inflict maximum damage.

Every bit of damage you do costs that player points, and when...

New Resident Evil 5 DLC Revealed, Multiplayer Modes Added

200°
266w ago - Capcom officially announced today that they will be adding new head to head multiplayer modes to Resident Evil 5 after the game is launched.

There will be two modes, the first (Slayer's Rule) is a point based system where you compete to kill the most Majinis while the second (Survivor's Rule) has you trying to kill eatch other.

The modes will allow you to play mano e mano or paired up with a friend against two enemies and will set you back $4.99 for the PSN version or 400 MS points for the Xbox 360 version. While it does seem like something that should have shipped with the game I'm glad Capcom isn't charging a lot for the new features.
