Sony on The Story Behind InFamous Second Son's Photo Mode

50°
12w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton is here with the story behind InFamous Second Son's photo mode today!

To quote: If you've been keeping even half an eye on gaming-related forums, blogs and social feeds over the last week or two you will surely have seen the stunning fruits of inFAMOUS Second Son's brilliant Photo Mode, which developer Sucker Punch added to the game via an update earlier this month.

It's fair to say the new feature has surpassed everyone's expectations and taken off in a big, big way - there are some absolutely incredible images out there, all created by you, the gamers.

So, to find out a little more about how it came to be and what the studio is making of its reception, we caught up with the man behind Photo Mode, Sucker Punch Senior Software Engineer Matt Durasoff.

How exactly did Photo Mode come to be? Was it something you planned early on, or was it more spur-of-the-moment?

Matt Durasoff: There's nothing novel about setting up shiny screen shots (say that ten times fast), but it was always something we did internally. For Second Son, the motivation for adding this feature came completely from the fans.

Right out of the gate, people were sharing awesome shots, without any special tools. Giving people a way to hide...

Warframe on PS4: Update 12 Adds New Warframe, Weapons, Mode

50°
20w ago - Digital Extremes Associate Producer Pat Kudirka announced today that the latest Warframe Update 12 on PS4 adds new Warframe weapons and modes on PlayStation 4 with details below.

To quote: It's been a long time coming, but Update 12 is here! The Warframe team is extremely (dare I say Digital Extremely...*crickets*) excited to not only bring Update 12 to our existing PS4 players, but also to our newly added Warframe fans in Japan.

They just got a taste on their Day 1 launch. This is another big update that includes a new Warframe, new weapons, a new game mode, and my personal favorite; a badass new HUD!

Zephyr: The Air-Based Warframe

For Update 12, we really wanted to introduce a Warframe like no other, and we believe we accomplished that with Zephyr, the air-based Warframe. Lighter than all other Warframes, Zephyr uses this to her advantage to increase her mobility, but also to complement her vicious attacks.

New HUD

Now I know sometimes it's hard to adapt to change, but bear with me here. Our new, stylized, in-game HUD is something every Tenno will enjoy. This HUD is less obtrusive, contains more information for the player and their squad, and we offer a handful of new customizable options to tinker with.

Blacklight: Retribution on PlayStation 4 Gets New Mode, PS4 Maps

50°
21w ago - Zombie Studios Producer Kael Hammond announced today that Blacklight: Retribution on PlayStation 4 is getting a new mode and PS4 maps today!

To quote: Zombie has been getting a lot of questions about when the next patch hits for the Blacklight: Retribution PS4 beta, and what will be in it. We're happy to announce that the first content patch for Blacklight: Retribution on PS4 will go live today, Thursday February 27th.

This patch includes too many things to list here, so we'll stick to the really, really good stuff - the first of which is the introduction of our cooperative game mode: Onslaught!

Onslaught Game Mode

Onslaught pits four Blacklight Agents against an endless horde of infected. Players will have to strategize and cooperate when building their loadouts in order to complete the challenges of Onslaught as a team.

Each wave and enemy type will force you to adapt as the threat changes. If you bank too heavily on fortifying one area, you might find yourself overrun.

But if you remain too light and mobile, you may not have the heavy firepower you need to punch through what comes next. Rely on your wits and gear to see you through it. Those who find a way to succeed will be rewarded for their efforts!

New Multiplayer...
