141w ago - SCEE Blog Manager James Gallagher has posted up some video footage today from Captivate 2012 showcasing Resident Evil 6 which arrives in October, SF X Tekken PS Vita Cross Play, Lost Planet 3, and DmC updates!

To quote: Last week I was in Rome with some friends from Capcom to attend their Captivate event, an annual showcase of what's in the pipeline for such game series as Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and Lost Planet.

While I could spend a couple of hundred words on fountains and pizza, there is a lot of game news to cover; here's a handy digest of all the best bits.

Resident Evil 6 is coming sooner than you think

We got to see an hour-long presentation on Resident Evil 6 that oozed with new information, including the announcement that the game's release date has been brought forward to October 2nd, 2012.

The game features three playable characters - Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Jake Muller - with three unique, intertwining stories that the player can choose to play through in any order. While the action takes place in various locations around the world, we do know that a large portion is set in China.

If you're wondering who Jake Muller is, he is a new character, a mercenary in Eastern Europe, and the son of maniacal...

Sony Announces Invizimals The Lost Tribes Coming in November

50°
182w ago - Sony Online Communities Manager Phil Priston has announced today that Invizimals The Lost Tribes will be coming to PSN this November.

To quote: I'm pleased to announce that we will be releasing our third game in the successful Invizimals series this November, entitled Invizimals The Lost Tribes.

The game will have all the features that has made Invizimals such a well-loved franchise in Europe, with Novarama's augmented reality technology enabling you to literally hunt down, capture, battle, customise and trade the magical monsters living in the world all around you.

The story will pick up from where Invizimals Shadow Zone left off, with you as the Hero trying to find Keni after he disappeared into the Shadow Zone or if you're new to the franchise, the game will allow you to begin a new adventure with Jasmin, Alex and the gang.

This time around there will be 150 Invizimals, the most creatures we've ever had on an Invizimals title, with 70 brand new Invizimals and 80 of the community's favourite Invizimals from the previous titles for you to capture, train, customise and battle.

Also due to popular demand, Novarama have included an awesome new Tag Team Battle mode , enabling you...

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls is Now Live on PSN

186w ago - XSEED Localization Specialist Tom Lipschultz has announced today that Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls is now live on PSN.

To quote: Few game series have as long and storied a history as Wizardry, which is the same age as Mario and helped inspire entire gaming genres.

Much has changed in this series over the years, but the base formula has remained the same: create your avatar, hire some help at the local guild, accept a quest or two, then crawl through a seemingly endless maze of corridors, traps, treasure chests and secret passageways... all in glorious first-person 3D!

But do mind the monsters. Everything from adorable Vorpal Bunnies to giant dragons, to a demonic face made out of corpses is traipsing through these same cavernous depths, always just around the next corner. Once you're spotted, it's time to fight - and if you're not strong, clever or fast enough to take them down, you're going to wind up as a spot on the wall - like all the others.

In the end, it comes down to tweaking your stats, finding or buying new equipment, keeping track of your whereabouts, exploring thoroughly and strategizing like there's no tomorrow. Think Etrian Odyssey, or Dark Spire, or... well... Wizardry!

There are 10 main characters to choose from, consisting...

Video: Lost Persona Chapter Persona 2: Innocent Sin Hits PSP

200°
187w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced today alongside a video trailer that Lost Persona Chapter Persona 2: Innocent Sin is hitting Sony's PSP handheld console.

To quote: We're willing to guess that until someone finally dares to make The Adventures of Methuselah Jones, it'll be hard to find a game that's been anticipated by fans for over a decade.

That's right, back in 1999–in between all those exciting millennium parties, of course–a new chapter in the acclaimed Persona series of roleplaying games came out in Japan and was ultimately never published in North America. This "lost" chapter, long anticipated by fans of Atlus, the series, and RPGs in general, is extremely overdue.

Apart from one other game coming out this year that has teased and tortured its fanbase for a similarly agonizing stretch of time (you know, the one that wants bubble gum but is out of it), there really isn't much else out there that fans have been waiting as long for.

Which is why we're so excited to announce that the wait is nearly over. [Register or Login to view links], or rather, an enhanced version of it for PSP (PlayStation Portable) system, is finally coming to North America!

Video: God of War Collection: Lost Atlantis Level for PS3 Revealed

216w ago - Today Production Coordinator William Weissbaum has revealed alongside a video the God of War Collection: Lost Atlantis level for PS3, as follows:

With the recent release of God of War: Ghost of Sparta, players now have the opportunity to explore Atlantis on the PSP.

But this isn't the first time Atlantis was going to be featured in a God of War game. Back in 2005, Senior Level Designer [Register or Login to view links] was given his first assignment on God of War II - create an epic experience set in the fabled lost city of Atlantis.

Unfortunately, after months of work, Jonathan's designs had to be cut from the game due to some high-level changes. Afterwards, he went on to create some of the more memorable moments and puzzles in God of War II, such as the heart pounding Grapple Bridge sequence.

In honor of God of War Collection being release in HD on the PSN, we have delved into the Santa Monica Studio archives and found the never-before-seen layouts and sketches of this lost level.

In the video above, Jonathan walks us through his designs and the heartbreak...
