122w ago - Media Molecule Studio Director Siobhan Reddy has announced today alongside a video trailer that LittleBigPlanet Karting is coming to the PS3 entertainment system!

To quote: Earlier this year, we cut some cake and popped some champagne to celebrate Media Molecule's sixth birthday!

We've had an awesome time during the last six years, seeing how the experiment we started here in Guildford has grown, giving rise to a thriving LittleBigPlanet community. This year will be no different, filled with DLC, plus new experiments from the LBP family for you to play with.

You already know about the fantastic LBP work that Tarsier Studios and Double Eleven Studios are doing on LittleBigPlanet for PS Vita, and now we are delighted to announce today a new LBP collaboration with the hugely talented team at United Front Games who will be leading a new project called LittleBigPlanet Karting!

We've all seen that UFG has a wealth of racing experience and they're also intimately familiar with LBP's cornerstones of "Play, Create, Share." With LBP's powerful and diverse toolset in their capable hands, LittleBigPlanet Karting is sure to be an adventure that both LBP fans and kart-racing fans alike will enjoy!

We are eager to see what you think of this union and especially excited...

Video: LittleBigPlanet 2 PS3 Move Pack Live Demo at Gamescom

153w ago - Sony's Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has posted up a LittleBigPlanet 2 PS3 Move Pack live demo video from this year's Gamescom event in Germany.

To quote: A few weeks ago, our Sid Shuman delivered an in-depth report on LittleBigPlanet 2's upcoming Move Pack.

In short, the Move Pack adds a wealth of new play styles, game genres, and imaginative new Story levels. And it even gives the game's celebrated Create mode a major shot in the arm.

This morning in Cologne, Germany we ran into a couple of Media Molecule members at breakfast (the pastries were delicious). We asked if they'd be interested in running us through the new tools on camera. Media Molecule Level Design Lead Kengo Kurimoto stepped forward with a quick demo.

How cool was that cel-shaded Sackboy? That's one of six new costumes based on iconic art, and it's included when the Move Pack drops next month.

Hands-on with LittleBigPlanet 2's PlayStation Move PS3 Pack

156w ago - Today Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman went hands-on with LittleBigPlanet 2's PlayStation Move PS3 Pack, with all the details below as follows:

Formally announced at PlayStation's E3 2011 press conference, the upcoming PlayStation Move Pack for LittleBigPlanet 2 will greatly expand the game's already prodigious creation suite and add countless new gameplay variants.

Based on my hands-on time, PlayStation Move support radically evolves the gameplay possibilities of LittleBigPlanet 2, whether it's flinging and manipulating objects using the new Brain Crane power-up, creating outlandish Move-focused minigames from scratch, or animating characters and props by recording your PlayStation Move gestures.

"It's the biggest update we've ever done," Media Molecule's Level Design Lead Kengo Kurimoto told me during a guided tour of the update last week in New York City.

When the Move Pack hits PSN this September, LBP2 owners will find six new Story levels in a Move-focused mini-campaign that picks up where LBP2 left off. One of the most significant gameplay enhancements comes as a potent new power-up called the Brain Crane.

Like a telepathic revamp of the Power Gloves, the Brain Crane enables Sackboy to pick up and manipulate objects with nothing but...
