289w ago - The earlier posted rumors of some cut-scenes in Metal Gear Solid 4 lasting up to 90 minutes was proven false by Sid Shuman.
The resident reporter of gaming magazine GamePro stated "Ninety-minute-long cinemas in MGS4 sounds like an exaggeration... But not a one, to my recollection, even approaches 90 minutes."
To quote in full: "I've completed the game twice, and am the author of the forthcoming [GamePro] review," Shuman said. "Ninety-minute-long cinemas in MGS4 sounds like an exaggeration. Like the other MGS games, MGS4 definitely has a cinematic quality.
And yes, some of the cut-scenes in the game are elaborate and occasionally lengthy. But not a one, to my recollection, even approaches 90 minutes."
"I think it's safe to say that the '90 minute cinemas' claim is a pretty big exaggeration," he told GamePro News.

The good news is that you can now skip or pause the scenes. Hands up though, how many of you are actually going to sit through the full 90 minutes?
"MGS4's story is massive. The videogame equivalent of all three Godfather movies on one disc," says the mag.
"As you'd expect, you'll spend a lot of time watching cut-scenes, so if you found previous games' story exposition laborious, then you'd better find yourself a nice cushion and plenty of teabags in readiness for MGS4's.
"They can be skipped, but you'll be missing out on some of the finely crafted examples of FMV footage anywhere in gaming," the...
304w ago - It looks as if Devil May Cry 4 has a fellow friend in Hot Shots Golf as it too requires a lengthy 5GB install to the PS3's hard drive.
To quote: We don't know if this'll be in the final retail version of the game, but we were annoyed to see that Hot Shots Golf, just like Devil May Cry 4, features a required installation at game launch.
In fact, with about 5GB of data being installed onto the PS3 drive, it's just as lengthy as Capcom's action game. We were surprised by this -- we didn't have our sandwiches ready for the long-haul.
