Video: Puppeteer Interview: Delving Into Japan Studio's Platformer

50°
54w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton shared a video interview today which delves deeper into Japan Studio's incredible platformer called Puppeteer below!

To quote: Shameless favoritism alert: PlayStation Blog ruddy loves Puppeteer. It's one of the liveliest, loveliest and most downright out-there platformers to come along in years, and plays beautifully to boot.

It arrives in stores on 11th September, and if it's not on your radar yet, it's time to stick a pin in it. This is a game unlike any other you'll see on shelves this year.

With just a few weeks left of development, we caught up with the game's director, the ever-insightful Gavin Moore, last week to delve a little deeper into his deviously dark creation.

When we spoke last year you explained that you were making Puppeteer so that you had something to play with your young son. What's his verdict now that he's been able to play it?

Gavin Moore: He loves it! He likes playing it either on his own or with his Dad, which is nice.

If I'm playing Kutaro and he's playing the secondary character - Picarina or YinYang - he tries to kill me all the time because he wants to be Kutaro. He thinks Kutaro is him,...

Video: Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus Coming to PS3 This Holiday

250°
55w ago - Insomniac Games Community Lead James Stevenson shared a video today announcing that Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is coming to PS3 this holiday season.

Below are the details, to quote: Since completing the Ratchet & Clank Future saga ([Register or Login to view links], [Register or Login to view links], and [Register or Login to view links]) we've had a really amazing time expanding the universe of our intergalactic heroes.

From creating the first four-player co-op Ratchet & Clank experience for the whole family to enjoy with All 4 One, to returning with the first all-new R&C competitive mode in Full Frontal Assault, we've challenged ourselves to bring new types of play to the Ratchet series.

At the same time, we love single-player Ratchet adventures. We've continued to generate new ideas for weapons, gadgets, and planets. It feels like the time is right to revisit Ratchet's personal story arc.

We're excited to announce that Ratchet and Clank are returning this year with an all new original single-player epilogue to the Future games. Under the creative direction of Tools of Destruction...

Curve Digital: Stealth Inc Sneaking Into E3 With Even More Levels

50°
59w ago - Curve Digital CEO Jason Perkins announced today that Stealth Inc is sneaking into E3 with even more levels.

To quote: Good day, PlayStation fans! It's the Curve team here, bringing you news about Stealth Inc, the stealth-puzzle-platformer for PS3 and Vita that means to exterminate you at any cost.

Taking control of one of PTi Industries' many cloned test subjects, it's your job to hack, leap and lurk your way through an enormous test facility, with only an assortment of disgruntled, laser-wielding security drones for company.

With its focus on hiding in the shadows, Stealth Inc allows you to experience stealth in its purest form, away from pesky distractions like "weapons" and "armor". Now brought to you in crisp, shiny HD, an innocent, defenceless clone being bisected by a laser has never looked so good.

The Curve office is hard at work gearing up for Stealth Inc's release, but it seems that we're missing a couple of our game designers! Curve inmates Sam and Hamish have snuck away to E3, where they'll be showing off their handiwork to the gaming world from the PlayStation booth. Look out for Stealth Inc (and Sam and Hamish's gurning faces) in this year's E3 coverage!

Meanwhile, we'd like to hint at some new and exciting revelations. Firstly - this is less of...

Video: Putting Content Into the PS Vita GAME Folder at Firmware 2.10

200°
67w ago - Following up on Sony's PS Vita 2.10 and PS Vita 2.11 Firmware updates, today PlayStation Vita hacker The Z shared a way around some of the new limitations and covered putting content into the GAME folder in a video below.

To quote (via wololo): Several people have pointed to me that I shouldn’t talk about “PS Vita hacks” when what I’m really talking about are hacks inside the PSP emulator running on the Vita.

But I’ll have to say in my defense that with each iteration, the PSP emulator on the Vita is going further away from the actual PSP firmware, with its seemingly endless series of security features (that are probably really here to avoid a stupid crash happening on your Vita, but also have the convenient side effect of delaying hacks inside the psp emulator).

Take the recent firmware 2.10 for example. It blocked the possibility to create files or subfolders within the /PSP/GAME folder from within the PSP emulator itself. The Vita system of course can still do it (and needs to do so when you purchase and install a psp...
