163w ago - SCEA Associate Product Manager Ken Chan has unveiled Deimos for God of War III alongside some new GOW: Ghost of Sparta PSP skins today.
To quote: November 2nd is only a few short days away, and we thought it was only fair that we give our Spartan Army a sneak peek at all the various skins you get to experience within Ghost of Sparta, and also a first gameplay glimpse of Deimos within God of War III.
Here to walk you through each of the skins is the Game Director of God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Dana Jan.
Just for comparison, I thought I would throw in Kratos in his standard gear for a direct comparison. Some interesting notes about the default model:
We reworked it and improved a lot of things including better textures, specular shine on the metal (belt, shin guard, weapons), his goatee was fixed (Chains of Olympus didn't have an alpha channel on it), his face I more expressive due to new facial rig, and subtle improvements like the red tattoo having a softened edge so it looks better up close. The blades were all remodeled to match the Blades of Athena as seen in God of War II as well.
Ghost of Sparta
Throughout the game, Kratos sees visions of his past. We came up with a 'look' or visual style for these...

191w ago - Epic's Cliff Bleszinski debuted the first cinematic trailer for Gears of War 3: Ashes to Ashes for the XBox 360 on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
The title is tentatively slated to arrive on consoles around April 8, 2011.
To quote: "Gears 3 is packing all sorts of new hotness, including those recently leaked tentacle-having, mutating Lambent Locusts, (you might remember the ending of Gears 2, and a certain Brumak...).
In the new game there's an even greater threat called The Lambent, and it's these kind of crazy tenticle monsters that can mutate while you're fighting them.
Double barrelled shotguns, a beard-wearing (apparently) Dom Santiago, female COG soldiers... it's looking a treat. Such a dreary, ash-filled world Sera has become. We should get a even better look at the game during E3 in June."
193w ago - PlayStation Network Executive Producer Kevin Furuichi has unveiled a video preview of Qore Episode 23 today, which features God of War III, Split/Second and 3D Dot Game Heroes.
To quote: By now, many of you have unleashed chaos on all of Olympus in God of War III. As you look back upon your adventure of carnage and glory, you're probably wondering: how did Sony's Santa Monica Studio create this experience?
Veronica Belmont interviews game director Stig Asmussen and lead combat designer Adam Poole about the entire process, from developing Kratos' character model and enlivening the Gods to creating the scale of the epic Titan battles.
This is a fascinating look back from their perspective now that many of us have enjoyed the game. And, if you haven't played it yet, don't worry! The feature is spoiler-free–just gorgeous video and insights from Stig and Adam. After delving into the making of the game, you can also test your reflexes in our God of War III interactive quick-time event challenge.
Driving has been incorporated in so many non-racing titles–from Red Faction: Guerrilla to The Saboteur–that some gamers have questioned if the racing genre has any life of its own...
194w ago - With the new Spartans Stand Tall site showing a storm brewing and God of War - Fate of the Titan unlockable video on the GOW Collection PS3 disc, speculation has begun on what the next title in the series will be.
Sony Santa Monica has stated that while God of War III is the last in the current story arc, it will not be the last game in the series... hinting that the next game will feature a new hero.
What many might not know is that featured on the God of War Collection PS3 disc is a "Fate of the Titan" video that can be unlocked after beating the game on Spartan Mode.
For those who don't mind spoilers, to quote: The video shows present day footage as the narrator (Gai) explains that "All myths need not be from ancient times" as a band of explorers are shown finding and opening Pandora's Temple.
The video ends with Gai saying, "Soon as with all great myths, a new hero will emerge."
It is worth noting that the video says Chronos the Titan lives another thousand years after the first God of War, but Chronos is actually killed in God of War III by Kratos.
Additionally, the skull of Chronos has a hole in it, in the exact same location that Kratos stabs and kills Chronos with the Blade of...
