156w ago - FluffyLogic Designer James Parker has shared week four from their developer diary profiling Eat Them for PSN today.
To quote: I want to talk to you about Power Bars. I know, interesting stuff! It's all rock and roll here at top flight game developers FluffyLogic.
One of the aims of the game is to maintain the pace throughout. We want the game to be pick-up-and-play - so session times will be short but the nature of the game will encourage repeat play.
We are aiming for an old-school arcade feel and we want people to sneak in one more game before school, or when coming back from the pub, or between courses at a swanky dinner party!
A game that is played in five minute chunks needs to be pacey and efficient - there's no time for standing around when you should be beating the daylights out of a skyscraper or chomping through a bus load of tourists.
The other thing that's important is eating people; if monsters aren't eating, the game doesn't live up to its name and whoever came up with the title it is going to go away disappointed.
172w ago - Big Sandwich Games Design Director Tyler Sigman has revealed today that Hoard is coming to PAX, and that four-player co-op is also confirmed for the PS3 and PSP title via PSN.
To quote: Dragons, gold, jewels, and princesses – they'll all be on display at PAX next month when Hoard makes its first appearance to the general public!
For those of you that don't know, Hoard is an arcade action title coming to PSN (both for PS3 and PSP). In this score-attack game, up to four players take the part of small dragons with very big ambitions, and try to amass a hoard of glittering treasure in over 30 different kingdoms.
How do you get treasure, you ask? By BURNING things, of course! And kidnapping princesses for ransom... At the Big Sandwich Games booth (#3012), we'll have two screens of non-stop dragon combat action, swag, and prizes for a daily high-score competition. Oh, and we'll also have a real, honest-to-goodness princess. So come get your firebreathing on!
Since our last post, we can confirm four-player co-op play has been added to the game – thanks for all the comments! That rounds our feature set out with Treasure, Princess Rush, Hoard (Survival), and Co-op modes. We support...
180w ago - SCEA Santa Monica Studio Managing Producer Deborah Mars has revealed today that Fat Princess is getting fatter, with both Fat Roles DLC and a Fourplay Party Feature included in PS3 Patch version 1.06.
To quote: On Tuesday June 29, our favorite heiress to the throne will get a little added bulk thanks to our good friends at Atomic Operations, and we can't wait for all you Fat Princess fans to check it out!
Fat Princess Fat Roles DLC (USD $4.99) unleashes Pirates, Ninjas and Giants (oh my!) into the world of Fat Princess. These three new character classes bring a whole new level of awesomeness to the frenzied 32-player battles alongside our beloved royal beauty.
After picking up the DLC, a new multi-class magic hat spawner will be activated in every level of Fat Princess. Pirates can call in cannon ball attacks, Ninjas can hide in the shadows to sneak through doors, and the all-mighty Giants can cause rumbling earthquakes and gain health by chomping on their enemies.
We're also very happy to announce that Patch 1.06 activates the new Fat Princess Party feature!
Due to the overwhelming fan response, Patch1.06 delivers four-player same-console co-op for FREE to everyone...
200w ago - European Product Manager Alex Pavey has shared a recap today on Four Days: The Heavy Rain PS3 Online Experience, as follows:
Last week saw the second chapter of Four Days: The Heavy Rain Online Experience unfold.
The investigation took a dark turn, as participants took part in a criminal investigation - handling an emergency call, investigating crime scene evidence, questioning a well-meaning but unreliable witness, and ultimately submitting data to the Bureau for further analysis.
At the end of the week, all those who submitted the correct evidence pack from the crime scene were given an exclusive voucher code to download the Heavy Rain playable demo from the PlayStation Store. The demo will not be made generally available until this Thursday, 11th February - so there's still time for you to get involved and get hold of the demo early.
201w ago - As a follow-up to last week's article, today European Product Manager Alex Pavey has shared a glimpse into the Heavy Rain Online Experience, previously on Four Days, Part 1.
To quote: Four Days: The Heavy Rain Online Experience kicked off last week, and it's been great to watch thousands of you following the early stages of the investigation.
A trail of clues led participants across the net, and they witnessed the disturbed and suspicious ranting of someone who may prove to be a potential suspect.
Some participants also discovered that their credentials gave them exclusive access to a parallel investigation taking place in PlayStation Home...
This week is where the real work begins. A crime has taken place, and you will be tasked with supporting the investigation. Analyse the crime-scene - question an eyewitness - assess the evidence. The consequences will be great, but the rewards may be even greater.
If you haven't registered yet, then head over to HeavyRainPS3.com to sign-up (you'll also get an exclusive PlayStation Home t-shirt when you do).
