To quote: For the most part, players can explore the world of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn at their own leisure. But what would an MMO be without some group content? In this blog post, we'll introduce you to the numerous activities that can only be mastered in groups of four to 24.

The realm of Eorzea, with its three city-states, is far-reaching. It has many hidden corners and crevices in which the wicked can find a welcome foothold. Be it the manor of a lady, so struck with vanity that she exchanged sanity for it, or an abandoned mine overrun with beastmen - adventurers are in constant demand, and there's always something to do.

Throughout the game, adventurers will also come across the so-called Primals. How these god-like beings are called into the realm is an important part of the storyline, so we won't give too much away.

The best known example of the sheer destructiveness of the Primals was the coming of the Seventh Umbral Era, brought forth by the elder primal Bahamut, who was freed from his prison in the lesser moon Dalamud. A single, massive battle with Bahamut reshaped the face of Eorzea forever. What happened...

22w ago - Square Enix Community Project Manager Hergen Thaens posted up some PlayStation 4 Beta tips today for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on PS4.

To quote: It's now Saturday. The floodgates have opened, and our login servers are starting to grind their gears in earnest - the PS4 beta has begun!

For those of you that have not yet found your way into the realm of Eorzea, this is for you. If you haven't download the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn PS4 beta, just jump into PlayStation Store now.

First Steps

After you've logged in and updated the game, you can go straight to the character creation process. This is really straightforward - choose whatever suits you best! From hulking Roegadyn to tiny Lalafell, all is available to you.

But an important note: if you want to play with friends, you'll want to make sure that you choose classes that start in the same city! It's a long trip from city to city, until you do the quest to access a new travel method at level 15.

While you work yourself through the introduction, you'll be in an instance (a sealed-off area in the game) that only you are in. That's normal - as soon as you've finished the first few quests, you'll find yourself among tons of other players.

To quote: Hello everyone! Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn launches for PS4 on April 14th, 2014. Many players have questions about the beta, as well as the PS3-to-PS4 transfer process for accounts.

Folks were wondering who could participate in the beta, if they could use existing characters, if they needed an existing account, or could jump right in.

Well, luckily enough, today marks the reveal of a whole lot of answers you've been waiting for. And not just that - but also a trailer, fully recorded with PS4 in-game scenes.

Okay, let's get started with some information:

Beta Info

Phase 1: February 22nd to March 3rd.
Phase 2: April 4th to April 7th.

•Japanese Standard Time assumed for all dates.
•The beta will be accessible for everyone with a PS4, and directly downloadable from PlayStation Store.
•There will be a character wipe after phase 1.
•Players who made their character in beta phase two will be able to bring this data to the retail version.

Final Fantasy XIV PS4 Coming April 14th, Collector's Edition Revealed

26w ago - Square Enix Senior Online Community Manager Matt Hilton confirmed today that Final Fantasy XIV PS4 is coming on April 14th alongside revealing the PlayStation 4 Collector's Edition below.

To quote: Since Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the second MMO in the Final Fantasy series, was released on PC and PS3 , more than 1.5 million accounts have been registered, and filled more than 60 worlds with a living, breathing community.

And since then, PS4 has been released, and millions of you have welcomed the new console into your homes. But admit it - you felt that something was missing, didn't you?

Final Fantasy and PlayStation have been a dream team since the early days, and good friendships never die. So we're happy to announce that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will begin beta on February 22nd, and then launch on April 14th.
