266w ago - Sony's PlayStation Home Online Community Specialist Jared Rea has shared a glimpse of EVO 2009, along with a video of Daigo defeating Justin Wong in Street Fighter IV.

To quote: [Register or Login to view links] is the world's largest and longest-running fighting game tournament, and this year it was bigger than ever.

Largely thanks to the incredible success of Street Fighter IV, EVO's overall attendance positively exploded compared to recent years, with over 1,000 die-hard players entering for it alone.

With thousands in attendance, six games are simply not enough and as the fighting-game mecca of the world, there is a ton to experience every year.

Capcom set up shop and showed off the latest builds of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for PlayStation Network, as well as Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Codes for the PSP. Likewise, Namco was on-hand running a side-tournament for the extremely impressive looking Tekken 6 for PLAYSTATION 3, which has to be seen to be believed (seriously, screenshots do not do this baby justice).

Not to be outdone was Aksys who brought their increasingly popular 2D fighter BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, which found its way onto the main stage as well. These titles...

The King of Fighters XII Revives the Lost Art of 2D Fighting on PS3

275w ago - Today [Register or Login to view links]'s Shane Bettenhausen has posted on the PlayStation Blog today news that The King of Fighters XII is due out this summer for the PlayStation 3 console.

To quote: Dedicated KOF fans have been patiently waiting for years to get their hands on a new installment in this legendary franchise. Since its inception 15 years ago, The King of Fighters has served as a ferocious franchise mash-up, gathering characters from classic series such as Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, and Ikari Warriors for three-on-three street fighting action.

For years, fans could depend on KOF to deliver a new yearly update sporting a few minor tweaks and new playable characters, but the advent of the HD era demanded a fresh start. KOF XII is precisely that–a total reboot and rebirth that embraces the past while looking towards the future.

The developers at SNK PLAYMORE have worked hard to deliver a next-gen King of Fighters sequel that honors the series' tradition of hand-drawn 2D art and animation while upping the ante with gameplay refinements and fierce online play.

Creating the massive amount of hand-drawn art required to fluidly animate HD-quality character sprites required a small army of artists sketching their hearts out–SNK...

Crysis Warhead Leaked, Protection is Fighting Piracy… for Now!

100°
310w ago - Crysis Warhead is currently available at your closet retail store or even on Steam, but there are some who made the decision that shelling out $29.99 isn't worth it.

For those who can't waste their time pulling out their wallets, are most likely already on their favorite file-sharing software, and downloading the leaked version of Crysis Warhead. Luckily for us who bought the game, we can still enjoy it with the upper edge as no real crack has been released.

What does this mean? It means people who pirate the game can install it, but won't be able to launch the title. YES, +1 for legit gamers... that is until a hack group comes along and creates the crack unleashing the wave of piracy.

Will it be bigger than Spore? Most likely no, but regardless it will be quite the popular file.
