Gran Turismo 5 Teams with Honda in NY Times Square Event

205w ago - Public Relations Manager Alex Armour has announced today that Gran Turismo 5 is preparing to team with Honda in a massive New York Times Square event, as follows:

Gran Turismo fans! If you're in New York this Thursday, we will be part of a major Honda event in the middle of Times Square to celebrate the launch of their [Register or Login to view links].

In addition to tons of displays, interactive elements, and on-stage entertainment ([Register or Login to view links]!), we will have a number of racing sleds available for consumers to come by and play the latest build of Gran Turismo 5 in glorious stereoscopic 3D, featuring the all-new CR-Z.

[Register or Login to view links] will have a huge 3D Spectacolor screen installed to show off their new "Eclipse" commercial in 3D (at 46th, between Broadway and 7th), and there will be a host of other 3D content that will be showcased at the event.

Some other items to keep an eye out for:

• Exclusive musical performance by N.E.R.D. at the Honda Stage at 12:30pm located on Broadway between 42nd and 43rd Streets
• Interactive CR-Z vehicle displays
• Racing simulators for fans to play Gran Turismo 5 in 3D, featuring the CR-Z...
 

Dead Rising 2 PS3 Free Community Event in L.A. Tonight

207w ago - Today Capcom's Product Marketing Manager Mike Schmitt has announced that a Dead Rising 2 PS3 free community event is being held tonight in L.A. for those interested.

To quote: We're super excited about the upcoming 9/28 launch date of Dead Rising 2. We're also excited because Dead Rising 2 marks the debut of the series on the PS3!

The game looks and plays fantastic on the PS3 and we've been showing it off the last few months at all the major trade and consumer events (Captivate, E3, Comic Con and PAX).

Tomorrow Tonight we're hosting an awesome community event in Los Angeles where Dead Rising fans can attend (for free!) and get their hands on the game. In addition to being able to play Dead Rising 2 prior to release we'll have prizes, food, music, contests and more.

Be sure and get there early as we'll be giving away some cool, exclusive Greene's Hardware t-shirts too (created by [Register or Login to view links]). If you're in the SoCal area, here are the specifics for tonight's event:

To quote: This Thursday, August 12th, the gates to the Presentation Podium re-open to celebrate the release of the upcoming PlayStation Move motion-sensor controller. And we are inviting you all to take part in this exclusive community event, only available in PlayStation Home.

Kicking off first thing tomorrow morning, visitors to the PlayStation Move event space will automatically be granted a unique PlayStation Move controller outfit that will serve as your key to access the full event experience.

Video: James Bond: Blood Stone for PS3 London Event Report

212w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a video report today featuring James Bond: Blood Stone PS3 highlights from the recent London event.

To quote: While we may have to wait a little longer for the next installment in the James Bond series, gamers and Bond fans can take a quantity of solace in the fact that the suave super agent is getting the videogame treatment from blur developer, Bizarre Creations with James Bond: Blood Stone, a wholly original 007 epic penciled in for release later in 2010.

While much of the plot - from a script by Bruce Feirstein, the writer behind GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough - is being kept under wraps for now, we do know that Blood Stone's globe trotting thrills and spills are set against a backdrop that involves the diamond trade, a missing scientist and a new Bond Girl: Joss Stone.





Yes, Joss Stone. The lovely Miss Stone, who was in attendance at the announcement, has also co-written and performed the games' theme song 'I'll Take It All' with former Eurythmics man, Dave Stewart; it's a catchy one!

Video: 3D Gaming, Video Store and PlayStation Move at OZ Event

222w ago - Today the ANZ Manager of Content Services Nino Kalogeropoulos has posted up a video showcasing PS3 3D Gaming, the Video Store and PlayStation Move at the recent OZ Community Event.

To quote: Last week we told you about the 'PlayStation Life in 2010′ community event that was held at Sydney's 'Coogee Beach' to usher the new Australian PSN Video Store, as well as showcase some of the upcoming technologies that SCE has in store for later on in the year.

We're talking about 3D games, as well as PlayStation Move 'motion controller' experiences of course. Well now we have actual footage from the event, so you can check it all out for yourself.

We just can't wait to get our hands on one of those PS Move controllers once again.
