Zipper's resident uber-scribe and Creative Director, Ed Byrne, sat down in front of a microphone yesterday to record a few tidbits of info to provide a little more background on what the first SOCOM video is showing off.
Though it's just a smidge past the 60-second mark, the "Director's Commentary" version of the SOCOM 4 teaser still has a few morsels of key information that make it worth watching - so be sure to invest a good minute of your time to check it out.
Of course, if you'd rather just see the teaser video in its original form, or just want to watch both versions for the heck of it, we have the standard edition of the video ready to watch as well.
197w ago - Today Sony's Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has posted a God of War III PS3 interview with Design Director Todd Papy, as follows:
Last week, I was lucky enough to attend our God of War III event in Hollywood, where we revealed the opening portion of the game to press. Yes, as you could imagine, jaws dropped.
I'm not going to spoil anything here, and frankly, I made sure to keep my head turned for the majority of hands-on time because I'm all about going in fresh when I finally have retail copy in hand.
But, in addition to hosting the event, key members of the Santa Monica Studios development team were on hand to chat. Last week you sent me questions for Stig, but unfortunately, he was sick and very limited during the event.
So we're saving most of those up for when we talk to Stig during GDC next week. But Design Director Todd Papy was nice enough to fill in (and he's an insanely cool guy), so we sat down to talk God of War III, and I couldn't help but throw a few of your questions his way. Hope you like it.
And make sure that if you do have more questions for Stig, drop them in this post via...
216w ago - God of War III will not have PS3 multiplayer, and according to the title's director Stig Asmussen the underlying reason why is that it simply wouldn't fit.
This was recently revealed in an interview with GamePro, to quote:
"With God of War 3, there's a story we want to tell and an experience we want to deliver, and multiplayer doesn't fit into that." said the games producer Stig Asmussen.
"Imagine two Kratos characters running around at the same time. Once you do that, the story becomes something more about an experience between two players and less about something that we're scripting."
"So, you have something like Left 4 Dead, which is sweet, but we just decided with this game, there's a certain way that we want to tell it. And staying with what we've done in the past, we want to complete the story in a way that was familiar to everybody."
He did, however, hint at new challenge rooms in the form of DLC: "It would make a lot of sense to be able to download them. That's something we might see in the future." adding "It's a good way to keep the series going."
