Patch 1.04 also goes live with the new direct controls, and we're adding new visual stimulation for you costume fans.

After working on the project for over a year we decided to bring back some of our favorite level designs, and needless to say, we love a challenge!

This is why the Director's Cut pack is filled with the most devious and evil tricks that Bakuki ever conceived. Including the Slap-a-ma-tron 9001, and a butt-ton of mind-bending puzzles.

Continuing tradition, we have added four new costumes to the dressing room. Dress Lil and Laarg in a new spectrum of costumes such as Timeless and Lost Clause, with Halloweeners and I'm with Cupid unlocked by playing through the 21 Director's Cut levels.

PS3 Dev Q&A: Home's Cutthroats: Battle for Black Powder Cove 2.0

50°
83w ago - PlayStation Digital Platforms Community Manager Cade Peterson has shared a PS3 developer Q&A interview spotlighting the Battle for Black Powder Cove 2.0 in PlayStation Home today.

To quote: Last week, PlayStation Home got an update to the action-packed free-to-play multiplayer game, Cutthroats: Battle for Black Powder Cove.

With this news, we jumped on the phone to chat with Michael Mumbauer, Director of the Visual Arts Service Group (VASG), a madly creative department within Sony Computer Entertainment America. VASG has been helping make Home content nearly since Home went Open Beta and has made some of the platform's most entertaining items and spaces, including the Home Mansion.

Although VASG creates art and code for other development teams, like several of the World Wide Studios, this is their first full game.

Michael was kind enough to let me ask some questions that will shed a little insight on the decisions that went into this 2.0 update.

PlayStation.Blog: VASG has created content for Home for years, but when Home transitioned to a game platform in itself, it was the next logical step for them to step their game up and make one. What was the original concept behind Cutthroats,...

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for PlayStation 3 Cuts to the Chase

100°
84w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman has detailed Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for PlayStation 3 today stating that it cuts to the chase!

Below are the details, to quote: Let's not mince words. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is in most ways the polar opposite of the Metal Gear Solid series, abandoning restraint and resourcefulness in favor of unapologetic brutality.

If Metal Gear Solid was an elegant switchblade, Revengeance is a rip-roaring chainsaw.

The opening tutorial mission wastes no time in showing off the game's much-touted Blade Mode, a surprisingly intuitive mechanic that boasts palpable precision. You press and hold L1 to slow time, then hold the right analog stick to wind up your slice.

Hold the stick to the right and Raiden will draw his sword to the right; release the stick and he'll slash from right to left, cleaving obstacles and baddies in two. It's a devastating and deeply satisfying attack, but it's slow and expends fuel cells so it's best reserved for surgical strikes.

Blade Mode has been much discussed, but less has been said regarding Revengeance's impactful combo system. You can tap Square and Triangle (wide attack and strong attack, respectively) to fire off rapid slashes and acrobatic flip kicks ala Dante in Devil May Cry.
