50w ago - Today Spanish PlayStation 3 developer Estwald has released PS3 Fan Control Utility v0.3 for 4.31 and 4.40 CFW CEX users with details below followed by v1.0 and v1.5.

Download: Control_Fan_Utility_v0.3.rar / Control_Fan_Utility_v1.0.rar / Control_Fan_Utility_v1.5.rar (Payload Mode Stability for new Miralatijera core with apps running in background) / Control Fan Utility v1.5 (RemotePlay).pkg by samson

To quote, roughly translated: First of all, I open this thread here because it is a very specific firmware modification (working on CFW 4.40 and 4.31), intended primarily to work under the environment of the games. It is not a simple adjustment of the fan speed, if not a payload that does the job regulating the fan speed depending on the temperature of the system, to try to avoid excessive overheating possible. For that reason I open it here and not in Scene, which also could be accommodated.

The thread will have two purposes: first, to expose the development, research...

51w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Nik Schmidt has shared an Out of Control trailer video today confirming that Watch Dogs arrives on PS3 November 19, 2013.

To quote: Nik here, it's nice to get another opportunity to chat with you guys. Today we're digging a bit deeper into the human puzzle that is Aiden Pearce by launching our World Premiere Gameplay Trailer.

Here you'll get to know Aiden a bit better, and most importantly, you'll discover what drives him to do the things he does. You'll get a good picture of how he uses the city of Chicago against those who crossed him... and you'll see how far he will go to make them pay.

We're also happy to announce that Watch_Dogs now has an official launch date - the game will be available on PS3 starting November 19th. (We'll be back to talk about the PS4 version and its release timing at a later date.)

In addition, those of you who pre-order at GameStop will also get an exclusive Watch_Dogs poster, designed by the legendary comic book artist Alex Ross. The poster's design is the inspiration behind the game's box art and captures the essence of our hero, Aiden Pearce.

That's the last of our announcements for now, but you can look forward to even more...

Video: MLB 13 The Show PS3: Diamond Dynasty Puts You in Control

65w ago - Game Designer Nick Livingston has shared a video today spotlighting MLB 13 The Show announcing that Diamond Dynasty puts you in control.

Below are the details, as follows: I am a designer on MLB 13 The Show. First, I brought you a blog about the new Universal Profile. Now, I want to talk about Diamond Dynasty.

Tons of feedback from TheShowNation.com has driven us to expand, improve, and fine-tune the systems that make up Diamond Dynasty.

Take a look at the content below for a preview of what you can expect from Diamond Dynasty in MLB 13 The Show. Please note that the video footage is of a work-in-progress, and many things will update before we hit the shelves.

We're really excited about how the Dynasty Card has evolved. They now display more information about the player's abilities, which will give you an idea of what you are getting right away, but more importantly how good a player can get.

Be aware that each Dynasty Player has maximum thresholds that he can reach in each attribute, so picking which cards you want to activate to your team has become much more important.

Video: Balancing Control and Combat in Wheels of Destruction

110w ago - Lead Designer Peter Porai-Koshits has posted up a video trailer today showcasing the balancing control and combat in Wheels of Destruction for PS3 below.

To quote: That perfect balance of smooth vehicle control and weapon mastery was always our most difficult and most important task. It's so easy to do them separately:

Here's your car control - drive wherever you want; here's your weapon control - fire at will. However, putting them together is a bit of a puzzle.

At the beginning, our weapons were at a fixed crux to always shoot forward as the car moves. As a result, you could either shoot while at a standstill, or shoot in every direction, when rotating the car or chasing someone. Everything became a merry-go-round where 'A' chased 'B' and shot at him, while 'B' was chasing 'C' who in turn was chasing 'A'.

We knew we needed another approach. The tried-and-true approach is the have the left stick control the vehicle and the right stick control the camera and the direction of weapon fire.

This immediately resulted in lower game speed. It's rather difficult to drive somewhere while watching from the side, or backwards. You're driving into a wall within seconds. Ultimately, everyone ends up standing in their own corner, shooting at everyone....

Music Unlimited Delivers More Control with Latest PS3 Update

50°
128w ago - Sony Network Entertainment Vice President Mike Aragon has revealed today that Music Unlimited will now offer more control with their latest PS3 update.

To quote: We just updated the Music Unlimited service application on PS3 with some great features that many of you have been asking for.

Cosmetically, you'll probably first notice that our new branding has finally landed on PS3. More importantly, however, the new app gives you added control over how you listen to and access music.

We're most excited about the new "My Channels" function that lets you build custom radio stations around your favorite artists. Simply type in the name of the artist and we'll populate a station with songs from that artist and related artists.

Another great enhancement to the service makes it easier to skip tracks you dislike. Really don't like a song that is playing on one of the channels? Just "dislike" it and we'll automatically skip to the next one.

The "My Channels" and the "dislike" enhancements - available to both Basic and Premium subscribers - add to your ability to customize the music you listen to on the service. The features will also available via a firmware update today for 2010 and 2011 connected BRAVIAs, PCs, and Blu-ray Disc devices,...
