100w ago - Devil's Details Director Steve Oldacre has announced today that Table Top Tanks will be bringing explosive AR to PS Vita on May 22, 2012 with a video trailer below!

To quote: I'm Steve and I'd love to tell you about the latest great PS Vita Augmented Reality game Table Top Tanks, which we developed at Devil's Details in Sheffield, UK.

When we were asked if we'd like to develop Table Top Tanks by our friends at SCEE we couldn't believe our luck: Who doesn't like blowing stuff up with Tanks? And we got to play with and help develop PlayStation's AR technology too. So, we said "Yes please!" and got down to work.

So, what's in Table Top Tanks? Firstly, there are the tanks: They're quite quick, nimble and fun to drive and you can choose from 10 different colors.

Their main cannon is pretty powerful and you can upgrade its shell type by running over pickups; my favorite is the bouncing missile - they're great fun to spray into the edge of the arena and watch them cause carnage and confusion as they bounce around.

To get you started playing the game we've included a single player campaign, which will teach you how to play and challenge your tank skills.

But the real fun comes making your own maps using the simple editor. You...

103w ago - Update: This rumor is now confirmed as true via Andriasang.com who state that PlayStation Vita version 1.8 Firmware will add PS Classics support.

To quote: "We still don't have a precise start date for PS Classics support on PlayStation Vita. But we do have something a bit more specific - a firmware version number.

Sony said today that PS Classics support will be added to Vita via the system's version 1.8 firmware update. As previously announced, this firmware update will be available some time during the Summer.

The version 1.8 firmware update was mentioned during Sony's announcement of the PlayStation 2 Game Archives service for PlayStation 3."

Today ryukyu22 has discovered PS1 Classic game Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on the PS Vita European PlayStation Store which sparked debate as to whether Sony is adding PSOne emulation support to the new handheld console.

The video game has since been removed, and below is what he said to say to quote:

"Sorry for the bad title i just didn't want to get people's hopes up as the game is not working at the moment. However, i would like to show what i did achieve.

Firstly i was happy to buy as i had money left over...

Sega on Bringing Collaborative Play to Sonic 4 Episode II for PS3

50°
105w ago - Sega Digital Campaigns Manager Mike Kebby has shared details today on collaborative play in Sonic 4 Episode II for the PS3 entertainment system below.

To quote: As you're no doubt aware, Sonic 4 Episode II will be upon us in due course. I'm just here to give an overview of one of the features we're most proud of in the upcoming game - Collaborative Gameplay between Sonic and Tails.

Sonic can now team up at any point in the game with Tails, by utilising one of three combo moves in order to progress through some of the more challenging parts of a level.

Firstly, we have the Copter Combo (fans of the earlier Sonic titles will remember this from Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles) which allows players to take control of Tails to lift Sonic up and over objects or onto previously unobtainable platforms.

Secondly, the Submarine Combo allows players to overcome Sonic's big weakness, his inability to swim. Tails can now pick up Sonic and swim through the water scuba style, meaning that Sonic now has a way to speed through the underwater parts of a level.

Meaning that whilst you still need to collect those all-important air bubbles to stay alive, you're in much less of a hurry thanks to Tails support.

Finally, the Rolling Combo combines Sonic and Tails into a...

200°
129w ago - Ubisoft PR Coordinator Alex Monney has unveiled a glimpse of the new PSN content they will be bringing to PlayStation Network this winter and beyond today!

To quote: Yesterday, Ubisoft hosted its second annual Digital Day where we showed off a handful of our upcoming digital products, including new PlayStation Network titles.

Last year, Ubisoft released some great PSN titles, such as From Dust, Outland, Clash of Heroes and Beyond Good & Evil HD. We're looking to build on that momentum with a diverse portfolio of digital games.

I Am Alive

In September, Ubisoft announced that I Am Alive was releasing on digital platforms this winter. At Digital Day, we showed off the long awaited game for the first time ever.

Our demo started off with the main character arriving back to his home town of Haventon one year after the event. He finds the place he once knew and loved torn apart by "the Event". Society is torn as everyone in the town of Haventon fight for survival. Your mission: find your family and stay alive.

Ubisoft Shanghai has put a lot of work in creating a new and unique take on the post-apocalyptic genre. I Am Alive plays to the sense of realism stepping away creating...

Graf Chokolo and Marcan Working on Bringing PS3 OtherOS Back

1000°
167w ago - Another update from graf_chokolo and Marcan42 who are working to bring OtherOS back to PS3, to quote:

I managed to boot an unencrpyted LV2 kernel from VFLASH. The decrypted LV2 kernel from Service JIG just made some strange sounds for several seconds and then did shutdown Normal unencrypted LV2 kernels boot normally. We could kick out lv2ldr from HV completely and boot enencrypted LV2 kernel always Working now on Linux bootloader. Stay tuned.

I didn’t use default.spp to boot decrypted LV2. I patched HV process which loads LV2 kernel, kicked out lv2ldr, replaced the function which loads lv2_kernel.self with my own code which loads just any OS from a VFLASH region It can be either petitboot, LV2 kernel or something else And dual boot is also possible with this approach. We could store several kernels on VFLASH and decide at boot time which one to boot.

And yesterday i found also out how to enable all debug and log messages in HV and HV procs and actually see these log messages Expect more soon. And greetings to SONY I will try today to boot decrypted 3.56 LV2 on my 3.41 PS3

If you could upload a binary image of AsbestOS for me please, i could test booting it today from VFLASH. Thanks.

Guys, i would be greatful...
