To quote: It is an incredibly exciting time for PlayStation Network and PlayStation Plus.

This week we not only saw a midnight launch of Mass Effect 3 on PlayStation Network, day and date with the retail release, but we offered access to one of the best games of the year and one of the best downloadable games ever- Journey- a whole week early to PlayStation Plus subscribers.

Every month PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting more and more great content out of their subscriptions, and this week's early access marked a new milestone.

PlayStation Plus now not only offers gamers early access to demos and betas but also to full downloadable games, in addition to the tons of free and discounted content and extra exclusive features like online storage for game saves and automatic updates.

71w ago - SCEA Senior Producer Harvard Bonin has officially announced today alongside a video and FAQ that the Starhawk Public PS3 Beta begins on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

To quote: This past November and December we conducted our Private Beta for Starhawk. It was incredibly valuable to our team at LightBox and SCEA Santa Monica.

We really appreciate all of the time that players have spent uncovering bugs and glitches, we would have never been able to find this many of them without real-world gameplay.

The Beta effort has been a true partnership with our community so we humbly thank you all. Without your help, we wouldn't be able to progress to the next chapter in the development of the game: the Public Beta!

We're now happy to announce that the Starhawk Public Beta begins this Tuesday, January 17th. This is a crucial step for us as we'll be testing all sorts of things, including game balance, server traffic, and general bugs.

To quote: After many, many months of hard work we are happy to announce that the Starhawk Private Beta will be live on PSN beginning Tuesday, November 22nd!

As you may have read in Dylan's last post, a selected a number of loyal Warhawk players who have opted-in to receive PlayStation emails will receive Private Beta keys, so if you played Warhawk there's a chance that you'll have a voucher invitation in your email in the upcoming weeks!

If you don't get on day one, don't get discouraged: our Private Beta will be "slow rolled." That means that we'll slowly add more fans and features as the Private Beta progresses.

Making a game is hard work, but it's also a lot of fun! To show you what I mean, check out this new Behind the Scenes video to give you an inside look at the SCEA Santa Monica/LightBox Interactive working life! We really, really appreciate the Warhawk faithful joining us in our Beta efforts.

First of all I would like to thank you for your support during the closed beta for our upcoming game Journey. It was a great success!

For the past few months, we kept getting asked about Journey's release date. Yes, we haven't said anything about our release in a while mainly because we really couldn't tell. And we don't want to throw out a date that we are not sure about, and later disappoint our players.

Fortunately, the online beta went very well, and our continued playtests have given us great feedback on the work we have left to complete. While there is still a ton of care and polish needed, we can't wait to finally deliver Journey, TGC's take on an online adventure game.

Like all our games, Journey is an experiment. In the end, it's what you think that matters. We are happy to announce Journey will be released Spring 2012, so you can experience the adventure for yourself.

106w ago - Following the release of PS3 Firmware 3.61 and the PSN restoration announcement from Kazuo Hirai, Sony's Senoir Director of Corporate Communications & Social Media Patrick Seybold tells PSN users to 'play on' confirming that PlayStation Network restoration officially begins now.

To quote: Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.

Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. Well be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states.

It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, nows a great time to get your PS3s firmware updated and change your password, both of which are required...
