Today, Kaz Hirai also announced a new, slimmer form factor 120 GB PS3 (available September 1st). SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton shows off the new hardware in this video.

Video: God of War 3 GamesCom 2009 PS3 Trailer Available

266w ago - Today nzonechannel of German site VideoGamesZone.de (linked above) has shared a God of War 3 GamesCom 2009 PS3 trailer via YouTube.

God of War 3 is tentatively scheduled to be released in March 2010 on the PlayStation 3 console, and is expected to feature gameplay similar to that of previous installments.

To date, only two weapons have been confirmed: the trademark Blades of Athena, and the Cestus, a pair of fist gauntlets shaped like lion heads. This new weapon appears to have the ability to smash through solid objects such as rocks.

Developers have stated that more weapons will be announced and will be 'user-friendly' in comparison to the sub-weapons from previous titles. More details to come as they are available.




 

Video: MAG Launch Date Trailer, Hits PS3 on January 26, 2010

266w ago - Just a few days since the MAG BETA invites went out, SCEA's Director of Development Seth Luisi has announced that MAG will be hitting the PlayStation 3 console on January 26, 2010... and has shared a launch date trailer today.

To quote: We know you have been eagerly awaiting news to find out when you can finally become one of the 256 operatives in a MAG battle...you're in luck. The team at Zipper and SCEA are happy to announce that MAG will hit North American retailers on January 26th, 2010.

Shadow War continues at PAX; Join Zipper, SCEA, Jeff, Chris and fellow PlayStation.Blog readers for a MAG-centric community event in downtown Seattle. The event is scheduled for Friday, September 4th from 6:00 - 9:00 PM PDT.

200 lucky PS.Blog readers are invited to attend the 256-person function and get hands-on with a new MAG map.





Members from the MAG team at Zipper will be on hand to take your feedback and answer your questions. SCEA will also be showing off the new PSPgo and a few upcoming PSP titles.

Video: Smash Cars is Coming to PS3 via PSN on August 20, 2009

266w ago - Creat Studios Director of Business Development Scott Hyman has dropped by the PlayStation Blog today to share a video and announce that Smash Cars is coming to PS3 on PSN this August 20th.

To quote: The response from the Game Developers Conference in March was great. The E3 reactions were even greater. And, finally, coming to PlayStation Network on August 20th, it's SMASH CARS from [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links]!

So, just what is Smash Cars? Why, it's is our tricked-out single or multiplayer online RC toy car racing game. With real-time physics simulation and vehicle customization, players can twist and turn, grind and gear up, perform aerial tricks and stunts while racking up points as they knock friends off the track and race to the finish.





Everyone can download all the high-end action and six-player online multiplayer competition starting Thursday, August 20th for $14.99. TikGames and Creat Studios are very excited about this launch, 'cause we know you will have a blast playing Smash Cars.

Now, I know what you're thinking. A great action racing game at a great price might be cool, but... what about trophies? What about downloadable extras?...
 

Video: LittleBigPlanet History Kit is Coming to PS3 This Thursday

267w ago - Media Molecule is getting ready to roll out more costumes for Little Big Planet, and this time it's taking a page from history.

The new History Costume Pack (below) outlined on MediaMolecule's Web site includes costumes for Ada Lovelace, Genghis Khan, Boudica, and Mozart for $2.99.

The History Kit (not to be confused with the Costume Pack) will also be available separately for $3.99, and includes new objects, materials, and stickers such as an Ancient Greek Vase, Islamic Tiles, and a Laurel Wreath.
