New PlayStation All-Stars Join Battle February 12, Free for Two Weeks

100°
101w ago - SuperBot Entertainment Community Manager Daniel Maniago has revealed today that new PlayStation All-Stars will join the battle on February 12th, and will be free for two weeks!

To quote: I'm excited to finally announce that our first wave of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale DLC will be available February 12th. Here's what to expect.

Kat graces PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale with her presence, as an up-close melee fighter who utilizes her ability to manipulate gravity to turn the tide in battle.

Players who enjoyed Gravity Rush on PS Vita know that Kat loves to bend gravity to allow her to dash, slide, and fly from one place to another, and her All-Stars incarnation is no exception. Those who enjoy AP burst combos and varied mobility will definitely gravitate towards Kat.

Emmett Graves from Starhawk joins the fray! He brings his signature "Build & Battle" style from Starhawk, calling down different structures to aid him in battle, including Rift Extractors for AP and Flak Turrets that fire at will.

Aside from his default rifle and pistol, Emmett can also call for additional weaponry in the form of shotgun and rocket launcher loadouts, allowing him to adapt to any situation. These...

Sony Offers Free PlayStation Mobile Game Wednesdays for Six Weeks

100°
101w ago - Sony PlayStation Digital Platforms Community Manager Paul Sullivan has announced today that they will be offering a free PlayStation Mobile Game every Wednesday for six weeks!

To quote: We're still in a giving mood long after the holidays have come and gone. To prove it, we're giving away six PlayStation Mobile games. Each week for the next six weeks, you'll be able to pick up one PlayStation Mobile title for free - that's a new free title each week.

To kick off this party we needed to find a title with a lot of punch, and we couldn't think of anything more appropriate than Samurai Beatdown. This fast-paced, side-scrolling slash-em-up pits your samurai rhythm skills against waves and waves of evil demons.

Download the game for free from the PlayStation Mobile Store on your PS Vita or [Register or Login to view links]. It's free now, so be sure to jump in and pick up your copy today.

Then check the Store Update post each Tuesday between now and February 19th to see which new PlayStation Mobile game will be free that week! One new game will be listed as free each Wednesday.

If you've never downloaded a game from the Mobile store, now's...

Sony VP Hints of PlayStation 4 (PS4) Announcement in May, 2013

1150°
101w ago - It's been just over a month since IGN confirmed PlayStation 4 developer kit updates surfaced, and today Sony VP of Home Entertainment Hiroshi Sakamoto has hinted that a PS4 (Orbis) announcement my arrive in May prior to E3 this year.

Below is the scoop, to quote: "He told [Register or Login to view links] in response to a question about "a new announcement related to the new PlayStation," that while the news is "still a big secret," the PlayStation side of Sony, "are getting ready for it."

He of course doesn't directly refer to a "PlayStation 4" or the rumored "Orbis" internal project name. Sakamoto adds that the PlayStation team are "focused on E3," but, "the announcement could take place at that time, or maybe even before, in May."

Sounds like Sony's toying with a pre-E3 event for its next-gen console - E3 takes place on June 11 - 13 - though Mr. Sakamoto's comments are still ambiguous enough that we can't be sure. This is a company that launched three different major hardware iterations of the PlayStation 3, so anything could happen.

Retro City Rampage isn't the only PS Vita game this week, nuh-uh! It's been a long time coming but Sumioni: Demon Arts is at last available and we've also got Orgarhythm and Earth Defence Force 2017 releasing as well.

Don't forget, our January Sale is still going on, with some new offers going up. Check out Chris' post for all the info!
