To quote: Recently, we gathered select members of the media and swept them off to Hong Kong for a special preview event. These lucky journalists had been flown half way around the world to see the brand-new game from Square Enix, Sleeping Dogs.

While you'll start to see their previews pop up online shortly, we thought we would give you a glimpse of what's to come by walking you through the action-packed mission "Mrs. Chu's Revenge." This is not for the faint of heart...

Mrs. Chu's Revenge

You play as Wei, an undercover cop trying to infiltrate the Hong Kong triads. In this chapter of Wei's story, you begin in a Chinese restaurant owned by a distraught and saddened Mrs. Chu. She sits in the back of a grimy kitchen, hunched over a table, alone and in the dark. A close relative has been murdered and she wants you to deliver the man responsible.

Your first objective is to track down "Johnny Rat-Face" – the man charged with the killing. With only his cell phone number to go on, this would be a pretty difficult task for most people. Luckily, you've got the resources of the Hong Kong Police Department at your disposal....

To quote: In this post, I wanted to pick a few weapons that changed the way that the development team played when we added them to the game.

Gamers don't always realize how long it can take for a weapon to make the leap from the drawing board to being fully functional and kicking ass in the game. It needs to be concepted, built, textured, animated, weapon logic needs to be engineered, sounds created, various values set up, tested, debugged, and tweaked.

As you can imagine, all this takes quite a while, which means you spend a lot of time playing your game with a limited set of gear. Over time, we add new weapons to the game and they can radically alter the balance of play because they open up new possibilities in combat. Below are some examples.

Heavy Weapons for Heavy Armor...

Let's start with the Minmatar MH82-BCR Personal Autocannon. This is a heavy weapon and, as such, restricted to the heavy dropsuit. As well as being simply devastating in its own right, this weapon really opened up the heavy dropsuit class once we added it to the game.

113w ago - Today Lead Designer Kerim Borchaev has announced alongside a video trailer that Wheels of Destruction is coming to PlayStation Network.

To quote: Few things are as universal as the lust to drive fast and destroy expensive machinery. Everyone likes driving and crushing things, so when given the green light, Gelid Games leaped at the creation of Wheels of Destruction.

A lot of inspiring games came to mind, and we wanted to make our mark on the industry with an interpretation that is near and dear to us.

Before we got anywhere, we had to pick a platform, and going PSN exclusive was an obvious choice for us. Sony's platform has become much easier to develop on, and the fact that we're able to self-publish goes a long way in retaining our mindshare over the game. We wanted to know that every bit of perfection and every flaw was of our own design.

Once we had our platform in mind, we began searching for an engine. After trying as many that came through our doors, we found our place with the Unreal Engine, thanks to its great graphics and smooth asset production pipeline. We wanted to make the most out of the tools we had at our disposal.
