90w ago - Today D3cH with help from aerosoul94 has shared a tutorial on PS3 Debug / DEX real-time PlayStation 3 game memory modding for those interested with details and a video demo below.

To quote: Hello everyone! First off I want to say special thanks to aerosoul94, we discovered this few months ago, we did a lot of mods, and now this is the time for release!

Ok, so now I'll explain how to edit memory of PS3 games in real time.

Tools needed:

  • A PS3 with a DEX firmware
  • ProDG Target Manager and ProDG Debugger (they got leaked, see HERE)
  • [Register or Login to view links]
  • The ELF file of the game you want to mod

Your PS3 must be wired, it will not work if you're using WiFi

Ok first, start ProDG Target Manager and go on "Search For Targets" then press the refresh button to start scanning, if all is ok your PS3 should be detected, just right click on it and move it to "Debugging Station" group then double click on it, it will add your PS3 into your targets list.

To quote from his blog: In time for the holidays, another revision bringing PS3 Game List to v2.0. The idea behind this release was to update the framework supporting the application, while implementing all the possible features (most suggested by users) fitting the time frame.

This version implements a very useful feature: support for RAR files (including multivolume and password protected archives). That means users can retire WinRar for their decompressing needs, as PS3 Game List is now able to load game info from RARs and extract data as well (up to 5% faster than WinRar, no less).

This functionality allows users to manage their compressed games, in addition to their standard game folders, games stored as ISO files and PKGs (PSN games and Homebrew), pushing the ‘all-in-one...

From Flat_z: Some people asked me about the source code of pfd & sfo tools.. here they are (linked above).

Guys, here is an update of my tools. It contains an update to sfopatcher (see the changelog below) and a small update to pfdtool. Previously you should make a save game for your game on your console and then use PARAM.SFO from it as a template to PARAM.SFO from a foreign save game to build a new PARAM.SFO which will contain the data specific to your console. A newer version of sfopatcher will use a foreign save data directory and params only if you specify these options.
