185w ago - Today Sony Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit video spotlighting Social Modes and an EA interview chat, as follows:

Recently, the Need for Speed caravan rolled into town for a media/community event bringing PS3s loaded with Hot Pursuit, a free rap show, and the Boston Celtics' Paul Pierce.

With the game only about 2 months away, the team from EA was eager to talk about the social elements of Hot Pursuit. Watch this video, then read my conversation with Need for Speed producer Jesse Abney, who not only answered my questions, but yours as well.

Jeff Rubenstein, PlayStation.Blog: How did Criterion end up at the wheel on Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit?

Jesse Abney, EA: Criterion's a AAA developer of action-racing games, with many years of doing great designs, great innovations, and platform technologies - especially for PlayStation 3 and online connectivity. And they kind of just waited patiently for their turn to get the keys to develop their favorite Need for Speed - and revive Hot Pursuit.

Duke Nukem Forever Playable at PAX, Hits Retailers in 2011

500°
189w ago - Though the game has been presumed dead so many times you'd need an abacus to keep track, "Duke Nukem Forever" is very much alive - and he's coming to store shelves soon.

Take Two Interactive Software pulled off one of the video game world's biggest surprises Friday, announcing not only that the over-a-decade-in-development first person shooter was nearly finished, but backing that claim up by giving the 150,000 people attending the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle the chance to play the game.

The rest of the world will get its chance in 2011 - on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

To quote: "Gearbox has enabled die-hard key Duke Nukem franchise builders and skilled veteran game makers to stand together and deliver, said Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software.

All gamers deserve a happy ending and after all of us gamers feeling the full range of emotions about Duke Nukem Forever, I am thrilled to be in a position with the trust, power and means to make it happen."

According to the author, PS2PSXe should be able to run PS1 images from all devices (CD/DVD, HOST/LAN, HDD) on the PlayStation 2.

Download: PS2PSXe Preview

To quote: "Public PS2PSXe preview. Only command line version attached. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get current sources to work properly (I'm halfway with some major changes and it will take awhile to complete them). The one attached you can consider as "the last one that actually works", or simply rev168.

The emu supports both PAL and NTSC display, but I REALLY RECOMMEND leaving the default PAL output. Why? Well, it's the only mode I use. Many fixes were made to make PAL games show less glitches in PAL mode... When you switch the display to NTSC it most often will show more glitches.

The PAL scph7200 bios is recommended to run games. PAL games are recommended due to two simple reasons:

1. PAL games require...

Video: Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom for PS3 Spotlighted

50°
198w ago - Today Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared an E3 2010 video spotlighting Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom for the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: A "heartwarming puzzle-action game" – that's how Namco Bandai describes their upcoming PS3 game Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom.

Majin is being developed by Game Republic, a studio that boasts several former members of Team ICO and a track record consisting of PS3 fan favorites such as Folklore.

Majin's fantasy world looks highly stylized, with "shadowy, storybook visuals" in the words of Namco Bandai producer Daisuke Uchiyama. According to Uchiyama, the team wanted to create "something everybody can relate to...something familiar, nostalgic." See Majin in motion below and judge for yourself.

You play as Tepeu, a mysterious thief who possess the ability to communicate with animals. Encroaching into a "forsaken kingdom" overtaken by a dark force, Tepeu comes across an imprisoned golem-like creature – called a Majin – and frees him.

Named Teotle, the Majin follows the thief out of gratitude, thus forming an unlikely alliance...
