115w ago - Criterion Games Producer Dan McDonald has announced that Burnout Crash is exploding on PS3 via PlayStation Network today!
To quote: Burnout CRASH! is a spin-off from our much-loved Burnout series, but this time focusing solely on the Crash Mode gameplay which you may remember from previous Burnout games.
A lot of games take themselves too seriously, sometimes all you really need is to just kick back, relax, and blow stuff up. With that in mind, we designed Burnout CRASH! with a tongue-in-cheek style, harking back to the arcades we all used to hang around in.
Our inspirations were manic pinball gameplay, over-the-top game show-style presentation, all tied up with our favorite music tracks from yesterday.
But I hear you ask, "I loved the original Crash modes, will I like this?" But of course! We have kept the spirit of the original Crash mode alive, with its simple gameplay of drive into a junction and smash as much traffic as you can - layered with deeper puzzle elements to work out the highest scoring strategies. The perfect game to sit on the sofa passing the controller back and forth with your friends, showing action that is as fun to watch as it is to play.
Looking back at previous versions of Crash mode, the single biggest request from our fans was to keep...
115w ago - Today Ubisoft Community Developer Gabriel Graziani has shared a video announcing that Assassin's Creed Revelations for PS3 is getting a big Blu-ray bonus!
To quote: We have something exciting to share today: thanks to a special partnership with PlayStation and the incredible storage space offered by Blu-ray discs, we are offering a full version of the original Assassin's Creed for free if you're one of the first to buy Assassin's Creed Revelations!
Supplies are somewhat limited, however, so you'll need to act quickly (pre-ordering might help ;D) in order to get a copy of the original Assassin's Creed included on your Assassin's Creed Revelations Blu-ray disc.
As you know, Assassin's Creed Revelations will see Ezio follow in the footsteps of the legendary Assassin Mentor Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad on a quest to understand the true nature of what it means to be an Assassin.
To prepare you for this journey, we thought it might be a good idea for you to have the game that started it all on-hand just in case you needed a quick refresher on Altair's history.
115w ago - VooFoo Studios Art Director John Kearney has shared the latest news today on Hustle Kings for PlayStation Network.
To quote: Just over 18 months ago, Hustle Kings was released on PSN. Since launch, 1.4 million online games have been played with over 14.8 million very shiny balls potted (imagine those numbers if we could include offline games)!
During that time, we have been busy developing Hustle Kings for PlayStation Vita, in addition to providing regular updates and DLC for the PS3 version.
A thriving community helped guide our direction and allowed us to make significant improvements. We created the hugely popular snooker add-on, free crazy tables, new trick shots, ball-sets, cues and avatars. We also provided support for Move and stereoscopic 3D.
As a massive fan of late night games, it's a privilege for me to confirm the inclusion of Hustle Kings in the upcoming PS3 title 'After Hours Athletes'. Created in association with PUMA Social, we recognise that the After Hours Athletes fuel themselves on late night falafel rather than energy drinks and half time oranges.
If that isn't enough to satisfy your hustle needs, you'll be pleased to know that Hustle Kings will be available for Vita at launch. Visually, it's virtually identical to the PS3 version...
115w ago - Sony Online Entertainment Executive Director of Development Lorin Jameson has announced today that DC Universe Online for PS3 is going free-to-play!
To quote: What could possibly be better than battling with thousands of other players online in the first, and only, action MMO on the PS? How about battling FOR FREE?
That's right, DC Universe Online will soon be free to download from the PlayStation Store, and free-to-play with no monthly fees required.
So what's the catch? There is none. The entire game will be open for you to play for free. We have gotten a lot of feedback from gamers asking for an opportunity to play without a subscription requirement. So, that got us thinking about how to offer access to the game in a way that allows gamers to play their way.
We wanted something that would give players options. We know different types of gamers are playing - and want to play - DCUO, and we want each person to be able to play in a way that best fits their style. That's why we've created three levels of access to the game:
• Free Access - Just like it sounds. Download and play the game for free. You also get all ongoing game updates (except DLC packs).
• Premium Access - This next level of access opens up to you if you spend...
115w ago - Recently Sony's Shuhei Yoshidaconfirmed that PlayStation Vita will be region-free, and over the weekend GameSpot (linked above) did an interview with him discussing PS Vita's US / EU launch slated for early next year.
Previously, we reported that PS Vita is scheduled to hit Japan on December 17, 2011.
To quote: "Currently, with the PlayStation 3 and PSP, physical media is released region-free, allowing games published in one country to be played without hassle in another.
However, Sony's digital strategy restricts content to the region in which it is released, with access being determined by the region of a user's PlayStation Network profile.
As announced earlier this week, the PS Vita will launch alongside 26 games in Japan on December 17. Sony expects to release its newest gaming hardware in Europe and North America sometime in early 2012."
