Video: The Weapons of Defiance Hits PlayStation 3 April 2nd, 2013

99w ago - Trion Worlds Director of Community Elizabeth Tobey has detailed the weapons of Defiance today alongside a video trailer, which will arrive on PlayStation 3 this April 2nd.

To quote: Defiance, an upcoming massive third person online shooter (set to come to PS3 on April 2nd) has thousands of different weapons that will titillate shooter players no matter their play style. Whether you prefer to snipe from a hilltop or, like myself, run full speed whilst rapidly firing a modified shotgun in the faces of your foes, we have a weapon that will work for you.

Moreover, Defiance has a system that allows you not only to collect new weapons as loot as you traverse the San Francisco Bay area, but has a system that allows you to salvage them such that you can choose particular pieces to trick out a different weapon. Gone are the days when you find an amazing scope on a less powerful gun: the salvage matrix now has your back.

Today we released a trailer detailing some of our more inventive weapon selections. We highlight the Infector (not only does damage but grows boils on your enemies that erupt with monsters that can then wreak havoc on other enemies), the Bio Magnetic Gun (does damage to bad guys, heals the shield of good guys), the Rocket Launcher (come on, who doesn't love those), and the Detonator...

Video: Killzone: Mercenary - Cash is King on PlayStation Vita

99w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman shared a video below today spotlighting Killzone: Mercenary where he states cash is king on PlayStation Vita.

To quote: Not long ago the US and European press got its first hands-on experiences with Killzone: Mercenary, Guerrilla Games Cambridge's upcoming PS Vita shooter. Despite gracing Vita's portable screen, the team behind Mercenary is hellbent on providing a full FPS experience with all the trimmings.

Come September, you'll get a full nine-mission story-driven campaign, an eight-player competitive multiplayer mode, and a collection of bonus challenge missions.

Watch our new video to get the inside story straight from Art Director Tom Jones.

Much has already been said concerning Killzone: Mercenary's graphical fidelity, but I'll add my voice to the choir: This is one fine, fine-looking game. Because Mercenary runs on a modified version of the Killzone 3 rendering engine, you'll see modern niceties such as volumetric lighting and smoke, high-res environment textures, gleaming metal and realistic-looking shadows.

None of this would be out of place for a modern PS3 shooter, but portable gaming rarely sees this level of extreme graphical detail....

To quote: This is Sean Miller, Director of Deadpool, coming this summer to PS3 from High Moon Studios and Activision.

We asked Deadpool, who graciously volunteered his leadership to relieve us of the pressures of developing a video game for him, to make a thoughtful video carefully outlining the nuanced gameplay and character features gamers could look forward to in his self-titled debut later this year.

As you can see in this new gameplay trailer, he... disagreed artistically. But while Deadpool sleeps off the tray of dessert chimichangas (he's named them 'chillychangas' he just finished off, I'm free to give you a more in-depth introduction to Deadpool.

If you're not familiar with High Moon Studios, we're the team behind two of the highest-rated Transformers video games of all time: [Register or Login to view links] and its sequel, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.

Deadpool is more than just a poster on our wall here - he's real to us, and his chaotic presence is a well we draw from constantly in designing his game. Deadpool...
