To quote: We hope you've been enjoying all the new gaming applications we've brought to PS Vita recently, like Wake-up Club and the newly released PlayStation Home Arcade.

Video: Sony Confirms Rocketbirds Blasts Off on PlayStation Vita Today

50°
97w ago - Sony Producer and Studio Head Sian Yue Tan has confirmed that Rocketbirds blasts off on PlayStation Vita today with details below.

To quote: The wait is over! We're very proud to announce that Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is wiggling its way onto your PS Vita starting with today's PlayStation Store update.

To start things off - an apology to those of you who own the PS3 version of the game, whom we promised a reduced price last week if you also purchase the PS Vita version.

We 'clucked up,' and the planned 20% discount will take a bit longer before this is set up in the US PlayStation Store. We will let you know when the discount goes live.

That said, building upon our 3x IGF Finalist browser game Rocketbirds: Revolution! and Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken for PS3, this new PS Vita version utilizes many of the PS Vita's awesome features.

For those of you who are reading about this title for the first time, in this game, you'll take control of Hardboiled Chicken, the original Cock of War (a chicken so tough, he survived being boiled as a fetus), to lead the rebellion against the draconian penguin oppressors to overthrow their hold on Albatropolis!

It's an old-school cinematic action-adventure set in the Rocketbirds universe, a world filled...

Video: God of War: Ascension on PlayStation 3 in The Mocap Studio

100°
97w ago - Sony Producer Ariel Lawrence has posted up a video today spotlighting God of War: Ascension on PlayStation 3 in the Mocap Studio below.

To quote: Hello, fellow Spartans! My name is Ariel Lawrence, and I'm a Producer on God of War: Ascension.

No one can argue that Kratos is angry. With everything that's happened to him over the years, he has every right to be. He's killed - either accidentally or intentionally - everyone he's ever cared about.

He's been lied to, chained up, run through, tortured, and cast into the depths of Hades several times. If I was him, I'd be angry too. Our aim in this installment of Kratos' story is to try and show a bit more of his humanity. To do this, we incorporated voice over motion capture, or "vo-mocap", into our cinematic pipeline.

The really exciting part of "vo-mocap" is that it gives our voice actors an opportunity to work together in a scene. Delivery, timing, and efforts all come more naturally because the actors are able to play off of each other. They see how far apart they are from each other physically.

They can watch emotions play out on each other's faces and respond appropriately. They can whisper. The technology we have now is awesome. On the first God of War, we might have been able to show...
