232w ago - No one seems to remember way back in 2006 when Gears of War first came out, from day one it was set to be a trilogy, though over the last few months Epic have said things like "There are no plans for a GoW trilogy" and they were handling things on "a game by game basis."
Yet now it seems a third title MIGHT be coming...
Recently speaking to Official Xbox Magazine UK Cliff Bleszinski shut down rumors that he may be working on a new survival horror game, saying to quote:
"No, I'm not making a horror game next. Gears is very much near and dear to me. There's only been two Gears games, man, there's still plenty of opportunities for things you can do in a cover-based shooter, and there's still a lot of stories to tell in the Gears universe. I'm not burned out on that at all."
New? Well that cannot be the single player element to the Dark Corners pack (Road to Ruin), that was a "deleted scene" from Gears 2.
It wouldn't take a conspiracy theorist to think that another game could well be in the works. What are your theories? Share them in the comments below!
233w ago - Apparently, a picture (below) of what appears to be a movie poster advertising the new Metal Gear Solid movie has just sneaked onto the Internet today.
To quote: The poster, which is believed to have been taken at Sony Pictures in Culver City, CA, shows Christian Bale (most likely Solid Snake) and Daniel Craig (most likely Liquid Snake) along with a scheduled release for July 2011 and Hideo Kojima's name at the top.
This would undoubtedly be awesome news if we could confirm it as being 100% legit, but until then it'll remain a rumor as there are plenty of individuals out there with decent Photoshop skills.
234w ago - Earlier this week gaming blog Kotaku quoted Microsoft's Shane Kim as saying that the launch of Natal, Microsoft's new controller-free motion control technology, would be as big as the launch of a console. Not surprising. That's because Natal is going to be a new console.
On this week's Listen Up podcast, 1UP discussed Natal, and how the new technology is actually the cornerstone of Microsoft's next evolution of the Xbox.
To quote: Microsoft will not only release Natal as an add-on for the Xbox 360, it will come standard with the next Xbox console. Yes, there will be a new Xbox console next fall.
However, the new console won't just be an Xbox 360 with a camera, though - we've heard it will be considered a new platform and carry a new name (Xbox Natal?). It's not clear what sort of upgrades we might see, but some have suggested it will be an slight upgrade of the current Xbox 360 technology.
Current Xbox 360 games would be playable on it, but future games would be able to take advantage of the added muscle. Similar to what we see in the PC space, games played on the more advanced Xbox would look or perform better, but publishers will still be able...
