26w ago - Zen Studios Creative Director Neil Sorens shared a video today of KickBeat on PlayStation Vita strutting its stuff at E3 2013.
To quote: Hey there, Playstation fans. Lots of excitement in the air these days as this year's E3 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet.
Not only did we get our first real look at the PlayStation 4 - I'm pre-ordering it already, myself - but Vita got its share of E3 love, too. KickBeat, for one, is playable in the Sony booth!
If this is your first time hearing about KickBeat, introductions are in order. KickBeat is a rhythm action where you fight baddies in time with the music. It's different from other rhythm games in that you play the action itself instead of playing an interface (bars, arrows, button icons, etc.) that's slapped on top of the action.
Enemies come at you from all directions, and you fight them off by pressing the buttons representing those directions at the right time. So let's say an enemy is attacking you from the left.
Hit the Square or left button (or tap the left side of the screen) when he gets close enough, which will match up with a beat from the song, and you'll serve him some kung fu smackdown. Simple enough, right? There are some more advanced controls later on, but you...
26w ago - Curve Digital CEO Jason Perkins announced today that Stealth Inc is sneaking into E3 with even more levels.
To quote: Good day, PlayStation fans! It's the Curve team here, bringing you news about Stealth Inc, the stealth-puzzle-platformer for PS3 and Vita that means to exterminate you at any cost.
Taking control of one of PTi Industries' many cloned test subjects, it's your job to hack, leap and lurk your way through an enormous test facility, with only an assortment of disgruntled, laser-wielding security drones for company.
With its focus on hiding in the shadows, Stealth Inc allows you to experience stealth in its purest form, away from pesky distractions like "weapons" and "armor". Now brought to you in crisp, shiny HD, an innocent, defenceless clone being bisected by a laser has never looked so good.
The Curve office is hard at work gearing up for Stealth Inc's release, but it seems that we're missing a couple of our game designers! Curve inmates Sam and Hamish have snuck away to E3, where they'll be showing off their handiwork to the gaming world from the PlayStation booth. Look out for Stealth Inc (and Sam and Hamish's gurning faces) in this year's E3 coverage!
Meanwhile, we'd like to hint at some new and exciting revelations. Firstly - this is less of...
26w ago - Square Enix Online Content Producer Ben Bateman posted up an E3 2013 trailer video today announcing that Final Fantasy XV is coming to PS4.
To quote: Moments ago, we took to the stage at our exclusive pre-E3 Future of FINAL FANTASY event to confirm to press and fans alike the news you've all been eagerly waiting for - FINAL FANTASY XV is in development for PlayStation 4!
Previously known as FINAL FANTASY Versus XIII, the game has been expanded to take full advantage of the PlayStation 4 capabilities, to bring you a FINAL FANTASY game that will surpass your expectations.
At the core of FINAL FANTASY XV we're still retaining the main concept, world and story of our original vision. Armed forces of Niflheim launch a devastating assault upon the Kingdom of Lucis, casting Crown Prince Noctis and his comrades out of their homes and into the fray.
But the game has evolved to include improved action elements, gameplay and a completely new level of beautiful graphical quality, all thanks to the capabilities of the PlayStation 4.
But don't take my word for it, have a look at the stunning trailer above and we guarantee your jaw will hit the floor!
26w ago - Co-creator Richard Hogg made available a video from E3 2013 today unveiling Hohokum for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita platforms below.
To quote: Hello there! It has been about a month since we announced that Hohokum will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita next year.
At the time I mentioned that we would have some gameplay footage coming soon... and here it is! It features lots of new gameplay footage as well as a close look at some of the characters from the game.
These bits were fun to make as they bring together lots of characters who never actually meet in the game. They seem to be getting on ok though, particularly Brollygirl and the oil-can guy. Gonna have to watch those two.
If you missed our previous announcement, Hohokum is a colorful, charming and whimsical game made by myself, Richard Hogg (I am an artist and illustrator) and Honeyslug, a London based game studio. It was an IGF and IndieCade finalist in 2011.
Hohokum will be playable at E3 in a few different locations including the PlayStation booth and the marvelous IndieCade booth. Look forward to seeing a bit more about Hohokum coming...
