Scott Pilgrim vs. The World DLC: Online Multiplayer & Wallace Wells

50°
94w ago - Sony Producer Guillaume Gad shared a video today showcasing Scott Pilgrim vs. The World DLC including Online Multiplayer and Wallace Wells below.

To quote: When we created a game called Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, we meant it. "But," you might have asked, "what about playing against other Scott Pilgrim fans from around the world?"

Sure, our side-scrolling beat-em-up based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's award-winning graphic novels let's you play as everyone's favorite lovable loser: the titular Mr. Pilgrim.

And yes, you could team up with your pals for some couch co-op, playing as one of Scott's kooky cohorts in this charmingly 8-bit retro-gaming world (all while rocking to the chiptune sounds of [Register or Login to view links]). But what about online multiplayer?

With the latest downloadable content, your question has been answered. Out now tomorrow on PlayStation Network for $4.99, this new DLC not only adds Wallace Wells to the roster, but also brings online multiplayer to the game. No more crowding on the couch (unless, of course, you want to... but that's your business).

Instead, you can summon your pals from around the world to take on Ramona Flowers' evil exes - and...

New Sony PS3 and PSN Releases for the Week of March 11, 2013

50°
94w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Rey Gutierrez is here with the new PS3 and PSN releases for the new week, as follows:

In this week's The Drop, vengeance is born in the fires of betrayal in this prequel to the best-selling God of War franchise.

Six months have passed since Kratos stood over the bodies of his wife and child, his hands stained with their blood - tricked by Ares into murdering the only people he ever loved. Swearing to avenge them, Kratos broke the blood oath that bound him to Ares, but oaths to Olympus are not so easily broken...

God of War: Ascension - God of War: Ascension returns players to the storyline of the epic God of War franchise. Join Kratos as he seeks freedom, redemption and the clarity to avenge his family. Or seek your own glory in epic 8-player mutliplayer battles.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 - Takes the bulls-eye precision of its best-selling predecessor to new and exciting heights. Powered by CryEngine 3 technology, the missions of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 are graphically stunning and more challenging as you once again step into the ghillie suit of a special ops sniper to take down the enemy.

Darkstalkers: Resurrection - The beloved Darkstalkers fighting game franchise is back and ready to take the...

Video: The Weapons of Defiance Hits PlayStation 3 April 2nd, 2013

50°
94w ago - Trion Worlds Director of Community Elizabeth Tobey has detailed the weapons of Defiance today alongside a video trailer, which will arrive on PlayStation 3 this April 2nd.

To quote: Defiance, an upcoming massive third person online shooter (set to come to PS3 on April 2nd) has thousands of different weapons that will titillate shooter players no matter their play style. Whether you prefer to snipe from a hilltop or, like myself, run full speed whilst rapidly firing a modified shotgun in the faces of your foes, we have a weapon that will work for you.

Moreover, Defiance has a system that allows you not only to collect new weapons as loot as you traverse the San Francisco Bay area, but has a system that allows you to salvage them such that you can choose particular pieces to trick out a different weapon. Gone are the days when you find an amazing scope on a less powerful gun: the salvage matrix now has your back.

Today we released a trailer detailing some of our more inventive weapon selections. We highlight the Infector (not only does damage but grows boils on your enemies that erupt with monsters that can then wreak havoc on other enemies), the Bio Magnetic Gun (does damage to bad guys, heals the shield of good guys), the Rocket Launcher (come on, who doesn't love those), and the Detonator...

Video: Killzone: Mercenary - Cash is King on PlayStation Vita

50°
94w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman shared a video below today spotlighting Killzone: Mercenary where he states cash is king on PlayStation Vita.

To quote: Not long ago the US and European press got its first hands-on experiences with Killzone: Mercenary, Guerrilla Games Cambridge's upcoming PS Vita shooter. Despite gracing Vita's portable screen, the team behind Mercenary is hellbent on providing a full FPS experience with all the trimmings.

Come September, you'll get a full nine-mission story-driven campaign, an eight-player competitive multiplayer mode, and a collection of bonus challenge missions.

Watch our new video to get the inside story straight from Art Director Tom Jones.

Much has already been said concerning Killzone: Mercenary's graphical fidelity, but I'll add my voice to the choir: This is one fine, fine-looking game. Because Mercenary runs on a modified version of the Killzone 3 rendering engine, you'll see modern niceties such as volumetric lighting and smoke, high-res environment textures, gleaming metal and realistic-looking shadows.

None of this would be out of place for a modern PS3 shooter, but portable gaming rarely sees this level of extreme graphical detail....
