Gears of War 2: No blinging up your guns

50°
340w ago - With E3 fast approaching, all 360 owners eyes are on Epic's Gears of War 2. And there's nothing more lead developer Cliff Bleszinksi likes than adding fuel to the fire of hype.

Touching on whether or not you'll be able to customise any part of your arsenal, he explained, "We're not really that kind of game. We're not going to allow you to bling out your gun. The Lancer's a Lancer, Gus is Gus, and Marcus is Marcus. Those are the identities we're sticking with." Fair enough.

Bleszinksi's clearly loving what he's playing too. "Just the other day I was driving in this icy level with a tank and power-sliding through Locusts and Gus goes, 'Locust roadkill, baby. Squish. Squish. Squash. Squash.' It was just freakin' great. And then when you shoot you're knocking over trees because we have more destroyable objects and you shoot your Boomshot and everything shatters apart.

"Gears was heavy and Gears was chunky and Gears felt satisfying. And Gears 2 is just really taking that to the next level. It's just cooler and more visceral."

We don't doubt it. Read more from GamePro HERE.

Ferrari Challenge: The PS3 game your 360 could never do

300°
341w ago - Any console that can play the upcoming Ferrari Challenge, take one step forward. Not so fast Xbox 360! At least if System 3 CEO, Mark Cale is to be believed when he says, "The PS3 offers the most powerful opportunity in the global marketplace."

Barring some phantom super-console lurking in the E3 rafters, we suppose that's fair. Though, the fact that Sony's better established throughout Europe, and that continent's insatiable appetite for racing titles probably shouldn't be counted out either.

"1080p resolution is a better solution than just HD," boasts Cale while taking a light jab at the 720p Forza 2. Certainly, no one's clamoring for less "p", so news of this nature will surely do its part as red meat for forum trolls who absolutely obsess over tech specs.

Although, the very same people, those combing over every progressive pixel, may also take issue with the game running at 30 frames a second. Cale claims that you may need 60fps in an action game like Devil May Cry 4, but in a racing sim where you're heading forward at all times 30fps is more than adequate. And judging by our hands-on, we're inclined to believe him.

Performance aside, what does this technical powerhouse offer in terms of gameplay? Well, graphics are just the tip of the iceberg....

Let's start at the very beginning.

- In this folder, you'll find the images that make the XMB, its sub-icons, and the background wallpapers for HD and SD resolutions.
- There is also a file called "PS3Theme_template.xml", but we'll come back to that a little later.
- It's important that you don't change any of the file names in this folder. If you do, it will cause problems later on.
- Start by deciding...

Guide: Use Your PS3 to Download Torrent Files

550°
343w ago - Ken_vs_ryu has found a way to download torrent files directly to the PS3 without using a client.

Here are the instructions on downloading torrents directly to the PS3 via TorrentRelay, please use with caution and intelligence:

1. Find a torrent file link.
2. Copy .torrent link (ie: www.mininova.org/get/########)
3. Go to http://torrentrelay.com
4. Click on the 2nd input box with [Get URL] next to it, and type in the link from step #2.
5. Click on [Get URL].
6. Click on the file you want. It will list all the files available on the torrent.
7. Save As dialog should pop up.
8. We only tried an MP3, and it was downloaded directly into the Music folder. Video below:

Note: This really isn't good for the torrent community since the PS3 cannot seed files, but it's interesting that it's possible.
