Sony Details FirstPlay Episode 31, Arrives Wednesday on PSN

50°
192w ago - Sony Associate Editor Nathan Ditum has shared details on FirstPlay Episode 31 todya, which arrives this Wednesday on PSN.

To quote: Because this week on FirstPlay we've got a positively thumping HD review of new SingStar rival Def Jam Rapstar (which, despite our best efforts, they decided not to call BlingStar).

We've also got a preview of sleek smash 'em Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, and we zoom in for an extra close-up look at what we can expect from Bioshock Infinite when it's finally released in a thousand years. Or 2012. Whatever.

And there's loads more too. We've also got tips from the DJ Hero 2 team on how to spin your opponents into the ground in the game's competitive mode, a personal take from editor-in-chief Tim Clark on his addiction to PES 2011's Become A Legend mode, plus reviews of DeathSpank: Thongs Of Virtue, Vanquish, Front: Mission Evolved and Tumble.

Last but not least we have our screenshot galleries, which is where we tend to put our weirdest jokes and where this week you'll find Twisted Metal, Alice: Madness Returns, El Shaddai: Ascension Of The Metatron and Mindjack.

All of this can be yours for just 99p, or even less if you buy an £8.99 subscription to FirstPlay for 12 weeks. Which you definitely should, if you think...

Hoard Arrives on PSN Tomorrow, Learn How to Train Your Dragon

250°
193w ago - Big Sandwich Games Design Director Tyler Sigman confirmed that Hoard arrives on PSN tomorrow, and shared details on how to train your dragon today for fans alongside a PS3 trophy list.

To quote: [Register or Login to view links] drops tomorrow on PSN, so it's time you start thinking about tuning up your treasure-hunting skills! Here are a few tips to help you get started on your path to becoming a great dragon and racking up some impressive scores:

• Preserve your score multiplier. You lose your score multiplier whenever you are wounded to zero health, and also whenever a thief finishes stealing from your hoard. If you want to earn Gold ratings on maps, you have to avoid losing your score multiplier too much. It's better to fly home and heal before getting wounded all the way to zero. And always keep an eye out for those sneaky burglers.
• Armor up for safety! The denizens of the realm are not friendly. Knights and archers make for challenging foes when they come in groups. While upgrading Speed and Fire Breath are sexy, improving your Armor can be key to good scores. If you find yourself constantly getting injured and sent back to your hoard, you probably need tougher scales! Having a few extra hit points means you can make mistakes and not get punished for it.

50°
194w ago - NIS America Marketing Coordinator Ryan Phillips has shared the first Prinny 2 PSP trailer today and announced news of a panties design content for fans.

To quote: I'm here to tell you all about our brand new contest we have devised to hopefully help our favorite Demon Lord Etna to forget all about her lost panties.

In order to escape her wrath and specifically from being skinned alive, we're asking our fans to design a new pair of panties that our favorite Demon Lord herself wouldn't mind wearing!

Three lucky contestants will be chosen by a panel of us here at NIS America and will win a free copy of Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! for PSP.

On top of that, the best design will be made into actual panties and will be sent to the top three contestants and also to 50 randomly picked participants! Get creative and help out the Prinnies by making a most-excellent pair of panties for Etna, dood!

Check out all of the details here at the [Register or Login to view links]!

On top of that we have prepared the first trailer for Prinny 2 and wanted to share it with all of you!

Sony Previews FirstPlay Episode 30, Arrives Wednesday on PSN

50°
194w ago - Sony Associate Editor Nathan Ditum has shared a preview of FirstPlay Episode 30 today, which arrives this Wednesday on PSN.

To quote: The blood dripping down the walls and the sickly aroma of toffee apples can only mean that it's Halloween.

Or at least that it's close enough to Halloween for us to make episode 30 of FirstPlay, up on the Store from this Wednesday, into a spooky special.

That means we're previewing the hottest upcoming PS3 horrors including F.3.A.R. and Shadows Of The Damned, checking out the meanest video nasties on the PSN Store, and playing through three of your scariest LittleBigPlanet levels.

And we've also got a special feature asking the FirstPlay and Official PlayStation Magazine teams to talk about their scariest ever gaming moments.

Not Halloween-themed but just as scary is our review of grappler sequel WWE Smackdown! Vs Raw 2011, and we've also got our verdict on Fallout New Vegas, an in-depth interview with FreeStyleGames about the making of their hip-hop hit DJ Hero.

And there's more - our regular galleries, including the bloodiest screenshots we could find, and a reviews round-up - and it all comes for just 99p, or less if you buy an £8.99 subscription for 12 weeks.

Enjoy! And have a wicked...
