Video Comparison: Trico Leak and The Last Guardian Debut

100°
271w ago - Over the weekend JoyStiq shared a video comparison of both the old Trico leak and some recent footage from the newly dubbed title: The Last Guardian.

To quote: When we first saw the year-old leaked footage for Team ICO's third game - then known only as "Trico" - We had two thoughts. First: we really want a kitty dragon; and second: we wonder what the game looks like now.

Lucky for us, Sony's E3 keynote answered the latter, with a fresh dose of video footage of the game, newly dubbed The Last Guardian.

Here's the thing though: the first three and a half minutes of the trailer were shot-for-shot identical to the leak, with obvious visual enhancements and that got us thinking: a video comparison!

Our very own Richard Mitchell painstakingly stitched the two videos together above for your enjoyment. On the left: The Last Guardian. On the right: Trico.

The Last Guy Gets PS3 Trophies Tomorrow, Add-On Next Month

100°
273w ago - U.S. Producer Josh Miller has revealed that The Last Guy will be getting PS3 Trophies tomorrow, with an add-on coming next month.

To quote: I'm happy to announce that tomorrow the game will receive a free update that adds Trophies to the game. I'm excited since it gives me a reason to play through the game again.

If you haven't heard of The Last Guy, the game came out last summer, preceded by an "interesting" developer diary video. It's a classic and addictive "line" game with simple controls that uses satellite maps of real cities around the world, including San Francisco, Tokyo, and Sydney, as its levels.

Here's a trailer to get an idea of what the game is about and what the visuals look like.

You play a hero who rescues people hiding out in buildings and leads them to the safety zone for evacuation while avoiding zombie monsters that roam the streets. The bigger the line, the bigger the bonus. But bigger lines also make it harder to avoid monsters, who make people scatter when they get close.

You can use thermo vision to see where people are hiding, and pick up power-ups scattered throughout the levels to stop time, fill up your energy meter and more. The...

NIS Announces Last Rebellion Exclusively for PlayStation 3

50°
276w ago - It appears Trinity Universe isn't the only RPG on the way from Nippon Ichi Software.

NIS America also revealed at their press event that the long-rumored RPG, Last Rebellion, will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation 3.

The game is in development at Hitmaker, the same guys behind the Crazy Taxi games.

Players can roam around the world field and make action movements like in an action game, but once you enter battle, you engage the enemy using a turn-based system. The game features the ability to target different body parts on an enemy to weaken that area (such as hitting their legs to slow them down).

The game revolves around the characters Nine and Aisha. Nine is a Blade, whose specialty is physical attacks, and Aisha is a Sealer, who uses magic spells to attack & seal enemies. Players will be able to switch between the two in battle, strategically choosing which attacks to unleash first.

Last Rebellion is due to release in Fall 2009.

Last-Gen: The Top 10 SEGA Dreamcast Games Unveiled

250°
279w ago - The SEGA Dreamcast, a system that many would say was way ahead of its time and a system many would argue was taken from us far too young.

Before it was cool to participate in online gaming on a console, Dreamcast had it. Before it was cool to speak to your games, Dreamcast had a microphone.

Because of a grand list of shenanigans on everyone's part, the Dreamcast crumbled due to the unstoppable juggernaut that was the PS2. Love it or hate it, Sega' s last hurrah was an innovative system with its share of great games.

The following is a top ten list to crown the 10 best Dreamcast games of all time:

10. Marvel vs. Capcom 2
9. Skies of Arcadia
8. Power Stone
7. Jet Grind Radio
6. Sonic Adventure
5. Shenmue
4. Sonic Adventure 2
3. Soul Caliber
2. Crazy Taxi
1. Resident Evil: Code Veronica
