PTOM: New Details on The Last Guardian for PS3 Surface

200°
268w ago - According to GamesThirst (linked above), the September Issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine (PTOM, formerly known as PSM - PlayStation Magazine) has a few new details about Team ICO's newest game, The Last Guardian for PS3.

To quote: "The game being the third from Team ICO, will center on the evolving relationship between a boy and his large mythical creature, (we already knew that), that creature is called "Trico" in the Japanese version.

At first the creature will be hostile towards the boy, but as the boy cares for the creature, cleaning it, playing with it and feeding it, that relationship, or bond will grow.

Overtime, the boy will use the creature to solve platforming puzzles, but the creature is alive and acts naturally, as if it were a real animal. Persuading it to do what you need will take patience and guile, not force."

That being said, The Last Guardian is looking to be another graphical masterpiece from the creators of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

For those wondering, The Last Guardian has no official release date yet but is likely to be released in 2010.

Speculation: Star Ocean: The Last Hope Coming to PS3?

200°
268w ago - Star Ocean: The Last Hope was released earlier this year exclusively on the XBox 360 console.

However, it may just be a timed exclusive with Square Enix's first retail PlayStation 3 game being Star Ocean: The Last Hope.

[Register or Login to view links] is currently listing Star Ocean: The Last Hope for the PlayStation 3.

On a related note, the XBox 360 box art (pictured below) of Star Ocean: The Last Hope doesn't contain the "Only on XBox 360" label.

To quote: GameFly has a good, no superb, track record for leaking games. However, this situation is unusual since Star Ocean: The Last Hope would be announced in Japan first and then leaked by GameFly.

A PlayStation 3 port seems inevitable, but GameFly is the only retailer with a listing for the game so don't get your hopes up too much.

New Last Rebellion PS3 Screenshots Show More Aisha

200°
270w ago - NIS and Hitmaker have thrown out some more new screenshots on the upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive role-playing game, Last Rebellion.

To quote: Instead of bringing some more of Nine, the game's male protagonist, into the picture, these screenshots tend to focus more on Aisha, the game's female protagonist.

They don't look half-bad.

Publisher NIS America hopes to release the game by the end of next summer.

A few of the screens are available below, and check out the rest at the link above. Cheers!

Video Comparison: Trico Leak and The Last Guardian Debut

100°
276w ago - Over the weekend JoyStiq shared a video comparison of both the old Trico leak and some recent footage from the newly dubbed title: The Last Guardian.

To quote: When we first saw the year-old leaked footage for Team ICO's third game - then known only as "Trico" - We had two thoughts. First: we really want a kitty dragon; and second: we wonder what the game looks like now.

Lucky for us, Sony's E3 keynote answered the latter, with a fresh dose of video footage of the game, newly dubbed The Last Guardian.

Here's the thing though: the first three and a half minutes of the trailer were shot-for-shot identical to the leak, with obvious visual enhancements and that got us thinking: a video comparison!

Our very own Richard Mitchell painstakingly stitched the two videos together above for your enjoyment. On the left: The Last Guardian. On the right: Trico.

First off, XBox 360 will be getting [Register or Login to view links], which is a free radio station on the Internet.

Second, they announced that XBox 360 owners can now easily link up Facebook with the XBox live account, same with Twitter.

You can upload pictures and view new messgaes, pictures, and many other things you usually do with Facebook and Twitter.

This is good for all 360 owners, but PS3 owners can do this already with the Web browser.
