163w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a video today showcasing the new Lost Planet 2 PS3 demo, to quote:
This week we dropped by Capcom HQ to test out multiplayer on the PS3 version of Lost Planet 2, as well as get some of your questions answered. There's a video featuring exclusive footage and your answers below.
We also found out that Capcom is doing something pretty cool: if 1.5 million of you gamers download the upcoming multiplayer demo (available April 22nd), they'll donate $25K to charity. Easy enough, right?
So why are we telling you this today, when the demo won't be live for 3 weeks? Because Capcom is giving some gamers a headstart on that download (which means you may be able to start playing it now).
Head over to lostplanetcommunity.com, where you can enter to win early access to the demo. Strike out there? Stay tuned to our Twitter account; we'll be giving out some more download codes later today.
164w ago - Today Yahoo detailed a recently approved Apple iPhone application named Line2 by Toktumi, Inc. that allows users to sidestep AT&T among other handy things for just a dollar.
Below is a demo video of Line2 in action, and to quote from the article on the app's feature highlights:
"Line2 gives your iPhone a second phone number - a second phone line, complete with its own contacts list, voice mail, and so on.
Your second line can be an 800 number, if you wish, or you can transfer an existing number.
Line2 also turns the iPhone into a dual-mode phone. That is, it can make and receive calls either using either the AT&T airwaves as usual, or - now this is the best part - over the Internet. Any time you're in a wireless hot spot, Line2 places its calls over Wi-Fi instead of AT&T's network.
Line2 also runs on the iPod Touch. When you're in a Wi-Fi hot spot, your Touch is now a full-blown cellphone, and you don't owe AT&T a penny.
Turns out Wi-Fi calls don't use up any AT&T minutes. You can talk all day long, without ever worrying about going over your monthly allotment of minutes. Wi-Fi calls are free forever.
Well, not quite free; Line2 service costs $15 a month (after...
165w ago - Today tzare of has leaked a picture (below) of what appears to be a playable PS3 demo for MotorStorm 3 in development.
It wasn't long ago that MotorStorm 3 rumors first circulated when it was discovered that the URL address MotorStorm3.com redirected you to Sony's Web site, meaning MotorStorm fans now have another piece of evidence that it's currently being worked on.
In the picture, it appears as if an unknown PSN user is running a playable version of MotorStorm 3. Although the title of the game is missing a subtitle (Pacific Rift, Arctic Edge, etc.), many feel it is indeed legitimate.
To quote: "MotorStorm 3 is a possibility although it hasn't been officially announced by Sony. An E3 unveiling is possible but who knows maybe the game will be announced before E3."
165w ago - According to NeoGAF user lherre, a new Gran Turismo 5 PS3 demo is rumored to be on PSN, but unfortunately for GT5 fans it's not currently available to the public audience.
To quote: "This member has impeccable credibility and this demo is definitely available on PSN, though it may only be available for a select group of people at the current time.
lherre later states that this demo may be used for media events only, but that is speculation on his part, as of now.
With this demo uploaded on PSN, could we be seeing a new GT5 demo in the relative future? Let's hope so since we haven't had a new demo since last Fall when we had the Time Trial demo, which gave us small tidbit of what to expect in the full release."
Finally, a release date for the title is slated as 2010, so the wait for a full release is still unknown.
