Video: Zachtronics Announces Ironclad Tactics is Coming to PS4

34w ago - Zachtronics Creative Director Zach Barth announced today that Ironclad Tactics is coming to PlayStation 4 with a PS4 video below.

To quote: One of the problems with making a game about the American Civil War is that it's fairly boring, at least compared to other video game themes. However, I believe that we have solved that problem, through the addition of massive, steam-powered automatons designed for a single purpose: WAR!

Ironclad Tactics is a fast-paced, card-based tactics game set in the American Civil War... with robots! Although it's reminiscent of the tactics games and collectible card games that we're all familiar with, we've done a few things that make the game stand out:

• When it comes to games, I am not a patient person. One of my biggest frustrations with card and tactics games is waiting for my opponent to take their turn, especially when they're an AI. In Ironclad Tactics, this is not a problem, as the entire game is streamlined for 10-second, fixed-length turns taken by all players simultaneously, blending the best of turn-based and real-time gameplay.

• You can call me old fashioned, but one thing I don't understand are digital card games that require you to purchase individual cards. They're just ones and zeroes! They don't exist! In Ironclad...

Video: MagicalTimeBean Announces Escape Goat 2 is Coming to PS4

34w ago - MagicalTimeBean Developer Ian Stocker announced that Escape Goat 2 is coming to PS4 complete with a video trailer below!

To quote: I'm glad I didn't go with my original opening paragraph for this post. It just enumerated the reasons Escape Goat 2 sets itself apart from other puzzle platformers out there. I've shown the game to so many people that the shtick is burned in my mind. And ultimately, it's impossible to describe, because the fun of Escape Goat is intangible.

Danielle Riendeau from [Register or Login to view links] put it in the most flattering terms: "Escape Goat 2 made me feel brilliant."

Could an indie really ask for a better pull quote?

I will mention (with only the slightest bit of ego) that this is the first ever "Double Fine Presents" game. Though the myth of how "Tim Schafer's Escape Goat 2 came to be published by Double Fine on PC last March has reached the ends of the internet, I can take this opportunity to tell you the Real Story.

In early 2014, the goat's final development days were spent just down the hall from Double Fine Productions, who were thinking about getting into the publishing business (just don't call them a publisher).

Team Goatimus (myself,...

Frima Studio Announces Chariot PS4 is Coming to PlayStation 4

50°
34w ago - Frima Studio Executive Producer Martin Brouard announced today that Chariot PS4 is coming to the PlayStation 4 video gaming console!

To quote: I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to finally share some info about our new PS4 game with the PlayStation community. Our small team has been working on Chariot for a while now, and I can't wait to see what you guys think of it.

Chariot is a 2D, couch co-op adventure platformer in which two players must work together to guide a chariot through underground levels using physics-based mechanics such as pushing, pulling, riding, reeling, and so on. But don't worry; even though the game is designed for multiplayer shenanigans, it's also super fun to play solo.

Philippe Dion, Chariot's creative lead, came to me a while back with this very original idea for a physics-based couch-co-op platformer designed around exploring caves with a vehicle. Everyone here was instantly charmed by the initial prototype. Even though it was entirely done with stick figures, we knew we were on to something when we watched people playing together, arguing and teasing each other, and really having a great time goofing around.

Getting from that stickman prototype to the next-gen platformer that is now Chariot was quite a ride. Ride, get it?

Sony Announces Child of Light is Out Today on PS4 and PS3

34w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements announced that Child of Light is out today on PS4 and PS3 platforms with details below.

To quote: Whisked away to a mystical realm and faced with menacing creatures, the small-framed Aurora is tasked with a great quest: to reclaim the Sun, Moon, and Stars from the Black Queen.

In Ubisoft Montreal's love letter to JRPGs, Child of Light invites players to adventure through enchanting vistas and forge alliances with eccentric heroes.

Child of Light launches today on PS3 and PS4. To celebrate the occasion, Child of Light's Writer Jeffrey Yohalem offers his thoughts as Aurora takes her first steps into a surreal world.

Child of Light is a game designed to be deep enough to appeal to fans of classic JRPGs, like Final Fantasy VI - the hard mode is especially challenging - but if played on normal it is accessible enough to appeal to newcomers. We wanted to share our love of JRPGs with a whole new audience while staying true to the roots of the genre.

The combat is deep, strategic, and involving. At the same time, we wanted to use these JRPG mechanics to tell a deep, moving story. Every mechanic...

34w ago - Atlus PR Manager John Hardin announced that Daylight PS4 is officially out today on PlayStation 4!

Below are the details, to quote: "They moved the afflicted to this place where you stand. They thought it would protect and leave them to grow. Then came Corruption, Persecution... and Chaos." - Dr. Mercer

Dark corridors? Check. Creepy sounds of death and terror? Check. Ominous quote with heavy implication that you're probably somewhere you shouldn't be? Double check! Daylight, the new horror game from Zombie Studios (Blacklight Retribution) and ATLUS, launches today for PS4!

This procedurally generated, first-person survival-horror game (say that ten times fast) puts you in the shoes of Sarah Gwynn - a girl who mysteriously wakes up in the abandoned Mid Island Hospital. Exits throughout areas of the hospital are sealed off with rune inscribed doors that can only be opened with unique relics.

Each relic ties into the facility's dark past, but they will only appear once you've uncovered enough of Mid Island's sadistic history. Sounds easy enough, right? Oh yeah, just watch out for those evil, revenge-driven witches stalking your every move... Remember - light is your friend!

What...
