Video: Anonymous Send Message to Sony Regarding SOPA Bill

1000°
135w ago - Despite some members being arrested a few months back, Internet hacking group Anonymous have now sent Sony a message in the form of a video (below) regarding the [Register or Login to view links] (Stop Online Piracy Act) bill.

This comes just a week after [Register or Login to view links] of a SOPA-style court order for India's ISPs to block some of the world's largest file-sharing sites including BitTorrent, Megaupload and more.

Shortly following, GoDaddy announced their support for SOPA resulting in thousands of domain owners prompting to [Register or Login to view links] the registrar, including giant networks such as [Register or Login to view links] and [Register or Login to view links] which consists of over 1000 domains alone.

To deal with the large volume of domain transfers, GoDaddy began [Register or Login to view links] (and in some cases delaying)...

Video: PS Vita Content Manager and Security Concerns of Wololo

1300°
135w ago - Following up on the PS Vita HBL Demo, today PlayStation Vita hacker wololo has shared details on the PS Vita Content Manager and the related security concerns as outlined below.

To quote: A few days ago I posted my concerns about the “Content Manager” tool, a tool that is compulsory to install and use if you want to copy files from and to your vita. Some people said I was paranoid (see my answer to that at the end of the article), and others shared my concerns and started digging. Interestingly enough, that article gathered almost as much attention as my much more spectacular (in my opinion) video of a Megadrive emulator running on the vita.

Some sites took my words out of context and said that I had proof Sony is spying on us when we copy files. This is not true, I don’t have any proof, just lots of concerns. Because of that I decided to call Sony’s customer service in order to get more information. Read along.

First of all, a piece of relatively good news: some users on French site psvitagen mentioned that it is possible to copy Movies...

Video: Picodrive Sega Megadrive Emulator Demo via HBL on PS Vita

135w ago - Following up on his previous confirmation, today Sony PlayStation Vita hacker wololo has made available a video below demonstrating the Half Byte Loader (HBL) running the Picodrive Sega Megadrive emulator with Sonic & Knuckles on PS Vita.

To quote: Update: One important clarification: This video shows HBL running on the latest firmware 1.510. The firmware update that happened today does not patch the exploit, unlike what some sites are saying.

A few days ago Japanese developer Teck4 posted a picture of a “hello world” running on the PS Vita through the PSP emulator. I contacted him immediately with some help from Mamosuke, and I soon got enough information to start working on porting Half Byte Loader to this exploit (note that Teck4 is also working on exploiting this vulnerability further, but I don’t know how far he’s been).

What you see in the video below is the game “Sonic & Knuckles” running in picodrive, a Megadrive emulator for the PSP.

Yes, I’m running an emulator...

136w ago - Following up on their previous update, this weekend Spanish PlayStation 3 developer DemonHades via RacingLocura07 has made available USaveMe v1.0, a PS3 Game Save Manager for JFW DH 3.56 MA Custom Firmware (CFW) alongside a video of it below.

To quote, roughly translated: Good people! I bring you something and I was anticipating demon!

The USaveMe to copy the saves to a flash drive to take them to another PS3 then take them as their own! Its operation is simple and is explained in the main screen of the application.

The main idea is save and copy it to a Pendrive, then when you're in another PS3 and copy the save and restore the database from the recovery mode and automatically adjusts to save the ps3!, You can also once stuffed with usaveme, USB normally copy and create the method introduced by Sony as usual

Here is a video demonstration:

I want to thank the users help me test Kikyo especially for testing, to DemonHades it was the structure and graphic design and users who helped me out when I had questions!

Video: PS Vita Save Game Exploit Confirmed, HBL is Coming Soon

1300°
136w ago - Following up on the rumor from last week that a PlayStation Vita Hello World was achieved through a PSP Save Game exploit, today established PSP hacker wololo has confirmed it and stated that a Half-Byte Loader (HBL) is incoming!

To quote: Last week, an exploit on the PS Vita through the PSP emulator was announced by Mamosuke. The exploit was found by Teck4, and, we won't stress it enough, is a PSP exploit that gives us user mode access within the PSP emulator on the Vita. So this is not a Vita exploit per se, but it's still very cool.

Mamosuke confirmed this with a video a few days ago, and today I was able to confirm the exploit myself as shown in the video below (and I must admit that I spent way too much time working on that basic flame effect). The video below shows the exploit running on both a PSP 1000 and the PS Vita.

Here's also a screenshot since there is not autofocus on my stupid camera.

I spent a good amount of time today confirming some of my hopes that it will be possible to run HBL, at least to some extent, with that exploit. It doesn't mean I have...
