246w ago - Software Marketing Associate Product Manager Cristian Cardona has announced today that White Knight Chronicles International Edition is hitting the PS3 on February 2, 2010.

To quote: So we know there are a bunch of people out there who are going to be getting a PlayStation 3 this holiday (or already opened theirs). Many new owners are probably going to ask us what we have to offer, and as many of you know, there's plenty!

[Register or Login to view links] and SCEA would like to add to that list of fantastic titles by announcing the North American release of White Knight Chronicles International Edition February 2, 2010.

Heavy Rain to Hit PlayStation 3 in Japan on February 18, 2010

246w ago - Numerous sources, including Famitsu Magazine and [Register or Login to view links], are now reporting that Quantic Dream's multi-protagonist adventure game Heavy Rain will be hitting Sony PS3 systems in Japan on February 18, 2010.

This means a North American release date will likely be around the same time for those wondering.

To quote: "Multiple Japanese retailers, including Amazon, report Heavy Rain is scheduled for February 18.

Instead of dialing combos, players activate context sensitive commands that are sort of like rapid fire quick time events. Norman can die during the fight and if he does the story continues with another character.

[Register or Login to view links]'s product description says the twists and turns lead to over twenty endings."

BlazBlue Portable is Heading to Sony's PSP on February 25, 2010

250w ago - According to the latest Famitsu Magazine, the Playstation 3's BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger will be ported to the PSP under the name of BlazBlue Portable.

This is definitely an interesting move considering BlazBlue on the PS3 featured Remote Play support - allowing you to play the game on the PSP already.

To quote: "The latest Famitsu issue revealed that BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger will be heading to the PSP in the near future under the name, BlazBlue Portable.

The high-definition 2D fighting game was released this summer for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A sequel, titled BlazBlue: Continuum Shift was revealed in September for the two aformentioned home consoles.

It should be interesting to see how the fluid and fast-paced fighting game fare on the PSP when BlazBlue Portable comes out in Japan on February 25th."

February 2009 NPD Numbers Give Sony Reason to Celebrate

400°
283w ago - Sony was able to put two games on the top ten software sales chart in February, as well as sell a respectable amount of each of its systems. The big winner in software is Street Fighter IV, taking the number two and three slots on the Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively.

The NPD gaming numbers are in, and February sales enjoyed a 10 percent bump over last year, while gaming enjoyed an 11 percent bump thus far this year.

To quote: Sony has some great news this month, although the 360 still beat the PS3 in hardware sales. The PS3 sold 276,000 units, which is still a tiny drop from last year's 280,000. The PS2 sold 131,000 units, and the PSP sold 199,000 units. Three consoles, over 600,000 units shipped.

What has to feel even better is that Sony did a good job of putting software up on the sales charts. The PS3 release of Street Fighter IV came in third place with 403,000 units sold, and Killzone 2 came in fifth place with 323,000 units sold. Very good numbers, two games in the top ten, and some evidence that Sony is starting to shift some serious software. Excellent news.

All we need is to see that rumored price drop on the PS3 and some titles from that upcoming push of PSP software, and Sony could be doing some intense business in the market.
