229w ago - Contrary to previous reports of a delay, today Q-Games Ltd. President and Executive Producer Dylan Cuthbert has announced that PixelJunk Shooter for PS3 and PSP will be hitting the PlayStation Store on December 10, 2009.

A video interview is below, and to quote: We know you've been patiently waiting for your chance to finally go hands-on with the fourth game in the PixelJunk series. So let me lead off by formally announcing: PixelJunk Shooter will become available on the PlayStation Store next Thursday, December 10th.

We've been holding on to this video interview with SCEE's Jem Alexander and I until we were ready to announce PixelJunk Shooter's release date. With that out of the way, hit "play" below:

I was a bit tired during that interview, which is my excuse for the over-use of the adjective "cool" (the game *is* cool though! *Very* cool cool indeed)! Here's the story behind that:

The time was 12am midnight and it was a warm early Autumn night and my heavily loaded car was waiting for me to drive it from Kyoto to Tokyo (estimated 8 hour drive).  This was the start of our journey to the Tokyo...

230w ago - Sony has promised a selection of more than 500 comics when its PSP Comic Store arrives in mid-December.

Comic publishers pledging support so far are Marvel (Astonishing X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, The Amazing Spider-Man), 2000AD (Judge Dredd, Durham Red), Disney (Mickey Mouse, Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck) and IDW (Astro Boy, Transformers, Star Trek, Wormwood).

Less well-known outfits Insomnia (Burke & Hare, Cages, Cancer Town), iVerse (responsible for Ape Entertainment, Archie Comics, Dabel Brothers, Image & Red 5 content) and Titan (Wallace & Gromit) are also on-board.

Sony's Digital Comics Reader, the application you'll need to read with, will flick through pages and zoom and pan with ease. It is already available, and Sony suggests downloading the latest PSP firmware and installing this to be prepared.

PixelJunk Shooter Target Date for December 24, 2009 on PSN

50°
234w ago - PixelJunk Shooters is one of the most anticipated remaining PlayStation 3 games waiting to be released before the end of the year.

The PlayStation Network exclusive title looks like it would just sneak into the 2009 release calendar.

Dylan Cuthbert, the President and Managing Director of Q-Games, posted the following comments on his personal Twitter page, to quote:

"all I can say is we're aiming for Dec. 24th in Japan"

Christmas Eve seems like an interesting release frame since most of the holiday shopping done from consumers are already completed. Even so, PixelJunk Shooters is shaping up to be another hit game in the popular PixelJunk series.

Details on PlayStation Home Audi Space, Arrives in December

250°
239w ago - A new Audi space is set for a December release in PlayStation Home, and will include the "Vertical Run" mini-game.

Within the game, apparently participants can drive the e-tron concept car through challenges and be rewarded by unlocking Audi apartments.

To quote from Paultan.org: "The goal of Vertical Run is to beat the competition in a multiplayer challenge by collecting enough electrical energy and avoiding driving errors in the e-tron, in order to reach the highest possible speed.

The best drivers in the Vertical Run game will be able to access special spaces around the world called "Audi apartments," though I'm not sure what exactly are in the apartments."

Details are slim beyond that, but this would be the first time apartments are available to win in a mini-game and it sounds like thar will be a variety of apartments up for grabs.

Digital Comics Store for Sony's PSP Coming in December

100°
244w ago - Today PlayStation Store Senior Manager Grace Chen has announced that a digital comics store for Sony's PSP is coming in December.

To quote: This December, you will be able to purchase and download from over 1000 digital comics on PlayStation Store (on the PSP and Media Go).

We've partnered with one of the leading comic publishers, Marvel Entertainment, to bring you the biggest names in comics, including Spider-Man, X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Now you are able to view graphic novels for bite-sized entertainment on demand and on the go.

We'll be adding an additional comics tab to the PlayStation Store for PSP, so you'll see different storefronts for your PSP games, downloadable movies & TV shows, and for comics.

Once you download a comic, you'll read it through the digital reader for PSP which has an Autoflow feature that lets you zoom in and out and move from frame to frame on each page. It's really a fantastic way to read and view the comics, because it keeps the integrity of the original print comic.

I'll be back in December to give you a demo of the new "comic store" and the reader for digital comics and graphic novels.
