300°
130w ago - Today Andrew Terrett of the SSX Marketing has shared a video revealing SSX Mt Fuji details and reviving a genre on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

To quote: SSX is just over a month away, and we're excited to give our PS3 fans in North America some exclusive content to keep you busy on the slopes.

Mt. Fuji, the legendary Japanese mountain will only available on PS3 in North America. The mountain that owns the horizon in Tokyo is packed with six unique event drops. Three race drops and three trick drops will have PS3 players carving down and in the majestic landmark in true SSX fashion - with a complete disregard for the laws of physics.

From racing through cherry blossoms to tricking off Torii gates, North American Playstation gamers will have something unique to look forward to when SSX arrives on Feb 28th.

Now a few words from the creative director on bringing back SSX from Creative Director Todd Batty:

"Extreme Sports is a dead genre." Over the past three years I can't tell you how many times I have heard this. As a gamer who has been playing for more than 20 years and, as a huge fan of games like SSX and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, it is also something that I refuse to believe.

Don't get me wrong: I enjoy blowing things up and shooting...

130w ago - Sony Community Manager MusterBuster has unveiled a preview video today for PlayStation Access Episode 18 below.

To quote: If you could reach out and touch this week's episode of Access TV it would feel small, sleek and curiously curvy.

That's right, episode 18 of Access is on YouTube now, and it's decidedly PlayStation Vita-shaped, with our headline spot devoted to showing off the tricks, tech and awesome launch titles of the glorious new handheld.

Check out the likes of Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Little Deviants and [Register or Login to view links] right now.

And it doesn't end there. We've also got a report from the first PS Vita Rooms event in Manchester, where gamer crowds joined a packed line-up of celebs and performers in checking out the machine (and if you like what you see, make a date in your diary for the last PS Vita Rooms in London next month).

It's hard to top Manchester for glamour locations, but the team managed it this week with a visit to Rome, where we caught up with [Register or Login to view links] honcho and comic book star Joe Madureira about his work on Darksiders II.

131w ago - Namco Bandai Games Community Manager Rich Bantegui has shared some video footage today of Armored Core V prepping the PS3 community for some deep multiplayer action below!

To quote: [Register or Login to view links], developer of last fall's critically acclaimed Action-RPG Dark Souls, has been spreading bullets from mech-to-mech for nearly 15 years since the very first Armored Core premiered on the PSone back in 1997.

So needless to say, when it comes to intense metal-shredding action and hardcore strategy, the team at FromSoftware knows what they're doing... but will you?

[Register or Login to view links] hits consoles across North America on March 20th, and when it does, we at [Register or Login to view links] want everyone up to be up to speed on all of the ins and outs on what it will take to survive while piloting the Armored Cores (or "ACs") in the dusty, shrapnel-laden world full of limitless online gameplay possibilities.

I've been learning more and more from the team about Armored Core V over the last few months between bouts in [Register or Login to view links], and the sheer level of detail and customization here has put my jaw on the...

Video: Arc System Works Details BlazBlue for PlayStation Vita

100°
131w ago - Today Arc System Works Director Geraint Evans has shared a video detailing everything fans would want to know about BlazBlue for PlayStation Vita!

To quote: With the PS Vita launch just around the corner - we thought we'd take a look at a series that's built a reputation for itself among fighting aficionados over the last couple of years.

Currently readying itself for a spot on the 22 February launch line up, BlazBlue is a fighter that's proven something of a cult hit - a series that's earned high praise from critics for its left-field approach to fighting but is still perceived in some fighting circles as 'the weird other one'.

Getting stuck into a little Street Fighter or a bit of Tekken from time to time is comforting, familiar - you know your way around the character roster, their moves and abilities. You know where you stand - and we understand that.

BlazBlue, seems scary in comparison. For the uninitiated, gameplay footage looks full-on, intense - like the circus has arrived for a gunfight at a firework factory. It's hard to look beyond the relentless visual assault and understand the fighting game that lies beneath.

So for all you BlazBlue beginners out there...

Video: Creating Monsters for Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock PS3

50°
131w ago - BBC Worldwide Executive Producer Simon Harris has shared some video footage today on creating monsters for Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock for the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: Welcome to the second blog on Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock. I'm Simon Harris and I am the Executive Producer for BBC Worldwide on the game, which means the project is my overall responsibility.

I need to ensure that all aspects come together to make a great game that stays true to the Doctor Who brand. This means working with our developer, Supermassive Games, across areas such as design, art and programming. It also extends to working with the Doctor Who teams in London and Cardiff to ensure that everything looks and feels as it should.

For this blog post, I thought I would give you some insight into the monsters which will be appearing in the game. This goes alongside our first gameplay trailer, released today, which showcases them.

Choosing the monsters for the game turned out to be a more of a complicated process than you would imagine. Initially, when [Register or Login to view links] put in their design pitch for the game, they had chosen the four monsters they would like to see, both as Doctor Who fans and from a gameplay point of view.
