Microsoft, This is How You Blow Your PS3 Lead in Japan

50°
327w ago - So Microsoft is doing pretty good in Japan. Not great, but good. Good enough to beat the PS3 last month. This is the Xbox 360 display at Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara. Back in August, the Xbox 360 sold out in this very store.

If you've been to Akihabara, you know that this is a very large retailer. Lots of shoppers! So for Microsoft to sell out right here is a good sign, and it's great for the Xbox 360's reputation in Japan.

This demo set-up is not. Well, no, the set-up is fine, it's the upkeep. But just as Microsoft starts to gain ground in Japan, an old friend rears its ugly head...

Out of all the demo kiosk consoles Microsoft needs working in Japan... Doubt this will catastrophically affect Xbox 360 sales in Japan. Microsoft will most likely sell lots of consoles this holiday season. (So will will Nintendo and Sony. Everyone wins!)

LittleBigRipoff: Sony can Sell your LBP User-Created Content

100°
328w ago - Gamer Dean Longmore reports today that Sony recently made changes to their PSN Terms Of Use, most noticeably amending areas pertaining to user generated content.

The part that has frustrated many is this one - "You also authorize us [Sony] and our affiliated companies, without payment to you, to license, sell and otherwise commercially exploit your User Material."

To quote: Sony have recently made changes to their PSN terms of use, notably adding terms and conditions for user generated content. No doubt, this is a legal precaution leading up to the release of LittleBigPlanet, obviously there needs to be guidelines to allow Sony to define and take action again inappropriate content.

But what really got my attention were some of the rights Sony have concerning your generated content...

You also authorize us [Sony] and our affiliated companies, without payment to you, to license, sell and otherwise commercially exploit your User Material.

The document continues on outlining that Sony may sell subscription services or gain advertising revenue related to your content.

Spoil the First Level of The Conduit on Nintendo Wii for Yourself

330w ago - IGN has posted footage of the entire opening level of The Conduit, a generous fifteen minutes of action in which hero Mr. Ford takes down enemy marines, shoots up bipedal "Drudge" warriors, and charges down corridors.

Then some more corridors. And then even more corridors. Seriously: there's a lot of corridors in this. A lot of conduits, even.

To quote, roughly translated: SCEE started to send a wave of e-mail to several European players. These messages contain codes which make it possible to take part in BETA of Killzone 2!

Finally, Killzone 2 will leave in February 2009, of exclusiveness on the PlayStation 3.
