157w ago - Insomniac Games Creative Director Marcus Smith has shared details today on the story so far in Resistance 3 for the PS3 entertainment system.
To quote: Hopefully you had a chance to check out the teaser for our new trailer which will premier exclusively this Saturday during the Spike Video Game Awards (check your local listings for time and network if you're outside the US).
And, we look forward to sharing more with you about the trailer after the VGAs this weekend. But even prior to the VGAs, a lot of new info has hit since GamesCom via a couple magazine covers that you may have seen - but if you missed it, we're here to catch you up.
First of all, the main protagonist in Resistance 3 is Joseph Capelli, the Sentinel who (HUGE RESISTANCE 2 SPOILERS HERE... if you haven't played it yet, go buy a Greatest Hits copy now!) was forced to kill Nathan Hale at the end of R2.
Capelli was dishonorably discharged, and four years later is living in hiding with his wife, Susan, and son, Jack, along with other survivors in the town of Haven, Oklahoma. He's given up fighting, and is now just trying to hide and survive the Chimeran death squads that roam the planet....
157w ago - Update #2: Now zAxisreports that the news of the PS3 Master Key was not legitimate after all.
Update: graf_chokolo has now confirmed he found the PS3 Master Key, and plans to release it publicly after PSGrade is updated with it and is spread!
Today Estx on xorloser's blog (linked above) has announced that he has uncovered the PS3 Master Key and will post it shortly, however, some users including phiren believe it is really the Device Key and are awaiting more details.
Below are some comment and code excerpts, as follows:
Estx: I’ve found the Masterkey from bruteforcing dumps from my system.
Took 27 minutes, over 8,100,000 possible keys. Lol – could’ve waited but ah well.
If anyone is interested in doing the same, you can find it on 3.41.

158w ago - Fluffy Logic Designer James Parker has detailed the controls for Eat Them! controls on PSN today.
To quote: I'm working on Eat Them!, which Ana has been telling you about recently, and I'm here to say a few more extra in-depthy words about how making a game like Eat Them! actually happens on a day to day basis. Today - CONTROLS!
A game can have the greatest technology in the world, the most incredible art assets, and USPs that would have marketing people salivating into their espressos, but if the controls feel wrong - if the player isn't properly connected with the game - then everything else will be wasted.
One of the first things you do when designing any game is download a picture of the DUALSHOCK 3, cribbed from Google images, fire up your favorite drawing package, and put little lines all over it connecting buttons to boxes that describe their functions.
At this stage, as an experienced designer, you make an educated guess at what's going to work for your game. The reality is, until you get the game on the Test Kit, the controller in your hands and you actually try the thing, you may as well have been drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa.
Because customisation is a big factor in Eat Them!, each monster's capabilities are going to be slightly...

To quote: One of the promises we made after moving the LittleBigPlanet 2 release date was that we'd find a way to give you all additional LittleBigPlanet goodness ahead of the new game's January 18 release date.

Throughout your mission you must take on challenges engineered by Terrance Dactyl - and you're going to some need help, so put on your bear skins and grab up to four friends to navigate the tough terrain of the tropical jungle dodging erupting volcanoes and other environmental hazards standing in your way.
The player with the PlayStation Move controller leads the charge, flicking switches and triggering platforms to help the other players, using DualShock...
