285w ago - The upcoming game Tomb Raider: Underworld will be released on November 2008 according to Eidos. The game focuses on the underworld adventures of Lara, and I hope that this will be a good release like the other Tomb Raider releases...
To quote: Eidos Interactive has revealed that the upcoming Tomb Raider: Underworld will be released in November 2008.
Developed by Crystal Dynamics, the eighth instalment in the popular adventure series will once again pit gamers in the shoes of Lara Croft, as she embarks on an investigation into a series of ruins in Southern Mexico.
Here, Croft inadvertently stumbles across a portal to the underworld dimension, Xibalba, which opens during the five days of Wayeb on the Maya calendar. The game will also allow players to visit locations such as Australia, Easter Island, and Rome, with areas set "in places no-one has seen for centuries."
Underworld will feature a host of new features over its predecessor, including interactive environments, dynamic lighting and weather effects, enhanced visuals, as well as all-new manoeuvres for Croft to perform.
Tomb Raider: Underworld is due out on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PC, Xbox 360 DS and Wii.

287w ago - We have confirmed with Wal-Mart Corporate Communications that the company is currently offering a $100 gift card this week with the purchase of any Blu-ray player.
This applies to all PS3s, including the Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 bundle available tomorrow. This re-confirms the information and documentation one of our reliable sources gave us two weeks ago.
After we made sure to ask about the MGS4 bundle this morning, Melissa O'Brien, a spokeswoman for Wal-Mart, told us, "Any Blu-ray player. Blu-ray. All of them."
She said that the deal is quite explicit in the Wal-Mart flyer for this week (an image of which we've placed after the break), and the deal is both online and in stores. We hope this clears up any confusion on the matter.
289w ago - Lorne Lanning, president of Oddworld Inhabitants, has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that the studio is working on new game based on the highly-regarded Oddworld franchise.
Reports of a new title emerged last week, following a speech given by Maxis co-founder Jeff Braun at Wilfrid Laurier University, where the industry vet revealed that he was working with Lanning's studio.
"I can confirm that we're working with Jeff on Oddworld stuff, but that's all I can say at this time," offered Lanning.
Braun stated that the new title would use development tools able to create content on a par with movie animation, with assets suited for both film and games.
"The rendering tools are getting so good now for 3D animation that you can literally create a linear animation and create a video game using the exact same objects," he said.
Oddworld is currently working on Citizen Siege, a title that has been conceived as a game and CG movie from its early stages.
