Nintendo Power Confirms Mega Man 9 for WiiWare

50°
322w ago - According to Pureauthor of NeoGAF, the latest issue of Nintendo Power has a full page article on the once-rumored Mega Man 9. While only the tiny scans are currently available, the article reportedly mentions that the game is in development by Inticreates of Mega Man ZX fame, and will be released digitally on WiiWare.

Will MM9 be making its way to other download outlets, such as PSN and XBLA? It's likely. Of course you can't expect Nintendo Power to mention that, though. Either way, expect an official announcement soon, on or before E3.

Robot Masters:

Magma Man
Galaxy Man
Jewel Man
Concrete Man
Hornet Man
Plug Man
Tornado Man
Splash Woman (Um, not too sure on the last one.)

Ubisoft confirms no stealthy Assassins 2 this year

100°
322w ago - Filed under both the "frowny face" and "umm, duh?" news categories is confirmation from Ubisoft that there will be no Assassin's Creed sequel releasing in 2008.

Laurent Detoc, the uber rich president of Ubisoft North America, told Forbes that "there's no new 'Assassin's Creed' this year, despite its sales success," but that "when we bring it back, there will be more anticipation for it."

And even though you're semi-sad about the news, it isn't like you expected to be assassinating in 2008 anyway... right? Don't kid yourself kiddo.

Eidos confirms Tomb Raider: Underworld release window

100°
323w ago - The upcoming game Tomb Raider: Underworld will be released on November 2008 according to Eidos. The game focuses on the underworld adventures of Lara, and I hope that this will be a good release like the other Tomb Raider releases...

To quote: Eidos Interactive has revealed that the upcoming Tomb Raider: Underworld will be released in November 2008.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics, the eighth instalment in the popular adventure series will once again pit gamers in the shoes of Lara Croft, as she embarks on an investigation into a series of ruins in Southern Mexico.

Here, Croft inadvertently stumbles across a portal to the underworld dimension, Xibalba, which opens during the five days of Wayeb on the Maya calendar. The game will also allow players to visit locations such as Australia, Easter Island, and Rome, with areas set "in places no-one has seen for centuries."

Underworld will feature a host of new features over its predecessor, including interactive environments, dynamic lighting and weather effects, enhanced visuals, as well as all-new manoeuvres for Croft to perform.

Tomb Raider: Underworld is due out on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PC, Xbox 360 DS and Wii.

Wal-Mart confirms $100 PS3 gift card YES, even MGS4 bundle

200°
324w ago - We have confirmed with Wal-Mart Corporate Communications that the company is currently offering a $100 gift card this week with the purchase of any Blu-ray player.

This applies to all PS3s, including the Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 bundle available tomorrow. This re-confirms the information and documentation one of our reliable sources gave us two weeks ago.

After we made sure to ask about the MGS4 bundle this morning, Melissa O'Brien, a spokeswoman for Wal-Mart, told us, "Any Blu-ray player. Blu-ray. All of them."

She said that the deal is quite explicit in the Wal-Mart flyer for this week (an image of which we've placed after the break), and the deal is both online and in stores. We hope this clears up any confusion on the matter.
