160w ago - A few days ago PlayStation Home Client Update version 1.4 was first announced, complete with a changelog and features, and today SCEE's Home Community Lead Alex Weekes has shared some last-minute launch details, as follows:
As we announced last Friday, tomorrow we will be releasing a new version of the PlayStation Home client: 1.4 is here!
In addition to the features already announced - new wardrobe, grouping, and voice chat - there are several other noteworthy improvements and additions.
First amongst those is the new Character Status settings, enabling you to set a status from a variety of new options including Happy, Sad, Busy and more! Even better, many of these status options will adjust your avatars facial expression and idle animations to match.
Other changes coming with 1.4 include improvements to the menu pad and Navigator, which can now be accessed directly by holding down the Start button. With the new cross-game invite support, you can invite your friends to join you in Home more easily than ever before.
161w ago - Today SCEE Home Community Lead Alex Weekes has announced that PlayStation Home Client Update 1.4 arrives during scheduled maintenance on November 11, 2010.
To quote: Today I can finally announce a release date for the newest client update for PlayStation Home and also share some of the exciting new and revised features!
So, without further ado: PS Home client update 1.4 will be released during maintenance next Thursday, 11th November. Once maintenance is complete, you'll be able to update your client and begin enjoying new ways of experiencing PS Home.
We'll release a full rundown of new and revised features next week, however today we wanted to share with you those we find most exciting and know you've all been waiting for.
Clearly, this has been one of the most requested areas for improvement of the PS Home experience for some time. Especially in recent weeks, we've seen numerous calls for improvements to the wardrobe. I've had to bite my virtual tongue for some time as the development team has been busy working away on bringing sweeping improvements to the wardrobe for 1.4, including the following:
• The ability to mark items you use commonly as "Favourite" items - making them easier to relocate.
161w ago - Today Bhaal at PS3-Addict.fr (linked above) reports that DemonHades has launched a Beta of PSXStore, which allows users to download PSN demos without going through PlayStation Network.
This is a essentially a follow-up to his previous Open PStore project that was first announced a few months back.
To quote, roughly translated: "As you know long ago our community was proposed in the Open PStore, a project which I unlink seeing the little / no care of their visual system, that is why we see this new project, I felt comfortable visual menu and care of every detail.
The organization is a remarkable point, the refresh rate and speed of access of content make this new system quick and easy way to have the latest without having to upgrade to 3.50.
We also have to say for the moment only has demos of retail games, not homebrew, so it is still that... a copy of Sony's PSN."
161w ago - Last week we reported on the MAG Escalation expansion patch heading to PlayStation 3, and now Jeremy Dunham has confirmed that the add-on pack and PS3 patch v2.02a will arrive today- November 4, 2010.
To quote: Our MAG "Escalation" add-on pack has seen a short delay from its original release date of November 2. The good news is that the postponement is a short one and that our new DLC will be available starting tomorrow, November 4.
As a thank you to our loyal fans, we've activated a "Double XP" bonus of +100% to MAG as a whole, which stacks with other in-game bonuses for quite an XP haul (note: the "Directives" queue will not award extra XP during this period).
As of yesterday, we've also kept our originally-planned price drop for the first MAG add-on pack, "Interdiction," to $4.99 (US).
In addition, as some of you may have already discovered through PSN promotional materials, we're also offering a special discount of $7.99 (US) on the "Escalation" DLC pack!
This promotion will be offered to anyone who previously purchased Interdiction at its original price prior to 12am Pacific Time, October 28, 2010*. The discounted price for...

To quote: We introduced the new cast, including our first-ever nationwide online casting contest winner. The panelists are set. Will Powers is fired up.
And the sneak peeks and 'Download & Win' sweepstakes have been revealed. So what else is left? Yup, you guessed it - it's time to watch "The Tester!"
Later today, Episode 1 of PlayStation Network's original competitive reality series, "The Tester 2" will premiere on PlayStation Store and in PlayStation Home.
The first season brought in more than 2.5 million downloads and produced a ton of excitement from the show's fans and we think that excitement will continue into season 2.
We went bigger and bolder for the production of "The Tester 2" with more "behind-the-scenes" with the cast, tougher challenges featuring games such as Medal of Honor and Gran Turismo 5, longer episodes, and even more surprises down the road!
Adrianne Curry and Brent Gocke will sit alongside guest panelists,...
