Video: New Driveclub PS4 Demo Shows Day / Night Transition

To quote: Check out the latest in the series of our #DRIVECLUB direct feed videos. This time, we showcase the dynamic shift in the time of day, set against the stunning Salar de Surire in Chile between 18:00 and 21:00.

13 things we'd like you to know about this video:

1. If you'd like to see a version of the video with significantly higher image quality than shown on YouTube (and a closer representation of how the game looks on PS4), you'll be able to download the 1080p video online soon.

2. The time of day is accelerated by x60, which is why the video covers from 6pm - 9pm in Chile in just three laps. Accelerating the speed of time is something you can choose to adjust before you race and it's also why the sunlight disappears so quickly at 1:58.

3. Design Director Paul Rustchynksy is the driver. He's using a Thrustmaster "T80 DRIVECLUB Edition" wheel, which explains why his last lap (in first person racing view) is the fastest.

Video: Assassin's Creed IV on PS4: A Truly Next-Gen Experience

45w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Gabriel Graziani posted up a video today showcasing Assassin's Creed IV on PS4, proclaiming it is a truly next-gen experience on PlayStation 4.

To quote: A lot of people have asked us what kinds of technical advancements can be expected from Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag on PS4, so we asked Associate Producer Sylvain Trottier to give us a couple of examples...

Some of the highlights include our use of real Beaufort scale waves for a realistic ocean and the new sea engine, which follows real world physics. Complex shaders work to give the ocean that translucent appearance.





Each raindrop is an individually lit object, puddles accurately mirror the world around them and volumetric fog accepts and reflects light from different sources. Dynamic Navmeshes (three dimensional objects you can run around on) ensure that you can jump from one ship to another without encountering weird collision issues, and can seamlessly interact between two ships involved in a boarding action.

Videos: New Driveclub PS4 1080p Footage on PlayStation 4 Arrives

46w ago - Evolution Studios Community Development Manager Jamie Brayshaw is here with some fresh PS4 videos for the weekend showcasing Driveclub 1080p footage on PlayStation 4 below!

To quote: Thanks to everyone that played the DRIVECLUB demo at Gamescom! There were some blindingly quick racers, and even though my team weren't the fastest overall, we earned the most fame points to win the challenge.

So that means that the Gamescom trailer plays out with "Like A Boss" winning, which I'm obviously very happy about! Also, in case you were wondering, the music track is Be Here Now by Hybrid (The Qemists remix).

The reaction we got at the show was fantastic, with over a thousand people trying the demo each day. I spoke to a lot of people playing the game and the key thing that stood out and really connected with people was the concept of "always having something to play for" and "always contributing to the success of your club."





The fastest racers loved that they could aim for first place on the leaderboard and still play over and above that to beat every challenge in every event.
