125w ago - PlayStation Network Executive Producer Kevin Furuichi is here with this week's Pulse 3/27 Edition preview, which features Closure, Skullgirls and PS Vita Top 10 details below.

To quote: In this edition of Pulse presented by PlayStation Network, host Christina Lee shines the spotlight on Closure - another very cool indie game coming to PSN later today.

Check out this hand-drawn mysterious world that uses light as the primary game mechanic. Closure is this week's featured Spring Fever title in the PlayStation Store (and for more about the game, check out Sid Shuman's GDC interview [Register or Login to view links]).

Upcoming 2D fighting game Skullgirls also features impressive hand-drawn art. With eight female characters and three-person teams, this dark deco fighter shows off some impressive moves - of course, Pulse is there for the full story.

For PS Vita fans, we lock onto a couple tips with Unit 13's multiplayer modes and ask a community question about upcoming mission challenges. Finally, today's Top 10 is all about PS Vita with the most popular games that you guys are downloading.

Video: Epic Mickey 2: Warren Spector Explains the Power of Two

200°
126w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared a video today spotlighting Epic Mickey 2 where Warren Spector explains the power of two below.

To quote: When Epic Mickey launched in 2010, PS3 owners could be forgiven for feeling a wee bit left out.

The game was an ambitious, passionate love letter to decades of rich Disney history, casting a newly assertive Mickey Mouse in a bittersweet tale set against a backdrop of decaying Disney lore.

But sometimes patience pays off. Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is coming to PS3 this fall with extensive support for PlayStation Move, vastly improved HD graphics, and a host of much-requested improvements.

I spoke with Creative Director Warren Spector to learn more about Epic Mickey 2, his work on the Deus Ex series, and his early thoughts on PS Vita. For more, listen to our full conversation on the latest episode of Official PlayStation Blogcast.

Unsurprisingly, PlayStation Move motion controls will serve as a key focus for Epic Mickey 2, though specifics remain scarce for the moment. "When we originally conceptualized the game," Spector explained, "we wanted to give Mickey control of the stuff he's made of - paint and ink.

Video: PS Vita PSP HEN Demo, Kernel Access Through Exploit

1000°
126w ago - Following up on the PSP SaveGame Exploit on PS Vita from a few days ago, today PlayStation Vita hacker wololo reports that [Register or Login to view links] has obtained PSP Kernel access on PS Vita through another exploit with a PS Vita PSP HEN demo video and details below!

To quote: Famous PSP dev Davee just posted a YouTube video showing him running PSP homebrews on a Vita. I initially thought “well, not a big surprise, he’s running his own port of VHBL to some random exploited game”, but it turns out this is much more interesting than that, as he managed to get a PSP Kernel exploit running on the PSP Emulator.

Davee had hinted a few days ago on twitter that he had PSP User mode access, but it’s a surprise to see Kernel mode today. What this means to the end user is full homebrew compatibility (unlike VHBL which is hit and miss), and potentially down the road, PSP iso loaders (the video actually shows a psp iso running). Check his video below:

The video shows a minimalist interface called “PRX Loader” which seems to be used to run the homebrews. No word...
