Video: Retro / Grade Blasts Off on PlayStation Network August 21st

126w ago - 24 Caret Games Co-founder Matt Gilgenbach is here with a fresh video announcing that Retro / Grade officially blasts off on PlayStation Network this August 21st with details below.

To quote: Hey everyone, good news: We've finished our award-winning rhythm/shoot'em up, Retro/Grade!

The game will be released on August 21st exclusively on PS3, and will provide hours of mind-bending rhythm-based gameplay as you fight through reverse-timed space battles.

We've gotten many requests to make Retro/Grade's soundtrack available, so I'll go ahead and confirm that we'll be selling it on PSN. If you want the game and the soundtrack, there will be a discounted bundle - we'll have more details on pricing soon.

For those who aren't familiar with Retro/Grade, it's similar to a classic Shoot 'Em Up... in reverse! At the beginning of the game you stop a massive alien invasion, but all the destruction damages the space/time continuum, causing the flow of time itself to reverse.

What would have been the final boss is actually the beginning of your backwards journey. You must help Rick Rocket restore the continuity of space/time, before the temporal anomaly rips the universe a new time-hole!

Video: Anomaly: Warzone Earth Takes Aim on PlayStation 3

126w ago - Senior Writer Pawe Miechowski at 11 Bit Studios has posted up a video today announcing that Anomaly: Warzone Earth is taking aim on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system via PSN!

To quote: Hello everyone, Pawe Miechowski from [Register or Login to view links] here to tell you about our original strategy game [Register or Login to view links], which is due on PlayStation Network before the end of summer.

Anomaly is truly... an anomaly. It's a strategy game perfectly suited for console gaming. Let me explain how that works. In the near future, an alien spaceship crashes on Earth and splits into two separate parts.

One falls to Baghdad, while the other lands in Tokyo. A huge dome emerges above each site, separating the cities from the outside world. No one knows what's going on inside, so the domes become known as Anomalies.

You play as the Commander, sent on a mission to investigate what's happened at the Baghdad Anomaly. Once inside, you discover alien war machines destroying everything in their path.

Essentially, Anomaly: Warzone Earth is a "tower offense" game, tipping the tower defense genre on its...

Video: New PSP SRPG Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time Out Next Week

126w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced today alongside a video trailer that a new PSP SRPG Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time will be out next week!

To quote: We're way-fairly convinced you're going to find this post way-fairly awesome, and no, not just because it's about Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time, the upcoming PSP strategy RPG from, well... us.

As for why we're so convinced, it's becau- wait, what? Oh, no, you heard right; we said "PSP."

Look, folks, it's still an immensely popular system with a huge user base and an amazing library of RPGs and SRPGs. Also, with a game as ridiculously lengthy as Growlanser: WoT (and this PSP remaster is significantly meatier than the original release from way-back-when).

It does take a while to localize things from Japanese to English, so it's not as though we're eagerly planning PSP games for 2025. Unless, of course, the PSP becomes sentient and takes over the world, in which case we welcome our new PSP overlords and commit to supporting the system for all eternity.

Anyhoo, the reason you should be am excite for this post is because:

It is to celebrate the debut of the game's full trailer (above), which shows...

Video: Get Hooked - The Dyad Demo on PlayStation Network Today

127w ago - Dyad Creator Shawn McGrath has shared a video and details below confirming that the demo is available on PSN starting today.

To quote: Hey everyone, Shawn here again. I'm dropping by to let you know the Dyad Demo launches today! Yay!

Mare Sheppard of [Register or Login to view links], David Kanaga (Dyad's composer) and I worked tirelessly through the night to create a new trailer announcing the launch of the demo.

It's a playful take on the [Register or Login to view links] and other game trailers. I got to star in my very own trailer; that's pretty neat! I hope everyone has a good laugh, and yes, that's my real hair!

If the (overwhelmingly positive) reviews are correct, then Dyad is a game you have to play to fully understand - now's your chance! Check out Dyad's first five levels, and see if you groove with it. If you do, the PlayStation Plus discount continues this week.

If you're curious about the game, check out this blog post, and maybe this one too.

If you're more of an "official site" kind of person, you're in luck! There just happens to be an official site for Dyad, and it's...
