Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Graces, Tales of VS Coming in 2009

250°
285w ago - Japanese publication 'Jump' has unveiled information on the Tales game series as follows:

Tales of Vesperia will be hitting the PS3 later this year. The latest issue of Jump in Japan has a massive blowout of Tales of announcements for the Wii, PSP, and PS3.

Tales of Graces will be the next Tales game to land on Wii. Planned to release later this year, Tales of Graces is the first main Tales title to land on Wii.

While details are scarce at the moment, we do know that the plot will entail a theme of protecting people. The main character vows to never lose someone important again.

Tales of VS will be landing on the PSP and will be the direct rival of Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Fundamentally sharing the same basic overview, Tales of VS will have 4-player fighting mode.

Thus far, only Yuri (Tales of Vesperia), Luke (Tales of the Abyss), Shing (ToH) and Richter (ToSKoR) have been revealed. I'm sure Lloyd will make an appearance as well.

Finally, we have Tales of Vesperia for PS3. The PS3 version will come with a new character named Patty Fleur.

Other than that, we have little to no details about any other changes Tales of Vesperia will get before it releases later this year.

Are Sony the Smart Ones with the PS3 in this Console Race?

200°
294w ago - There's no doubt that Sony has made mistakes this generation such as underestimating both Microsoft and Nintendo. Another mistake is relying too much on the brand image and not pumping out enough marketing.

However, if you have a look at the bigger picture, I think Sony are the smart ones in this console race, and I'm going to tell you why...

The Internet has been full of articles on why the PS3 is in trouble and how Sony have made mistakes since it launched. So I thought it would be right to give a fresh opinion on the matter.

There's no question that the PS3 has had a rocky start; it launched with very few quality games and it was argued by many that at its inception there was very little incentive to buy the PS3 over the older and cheaper Xbox 360.

The Xbox also had more titles and many multi-platform games that felt so much better than their PS3 counter-parts. As we approach the PS3's two-year anniversary in Europe however, the console is looking very different.

There are many quality titles under the PS3's belt including some impressive exclusives like LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2. With Killzone 2 and hundreds of other titles just on the horizon, why does the media still bash the PS3?

Could it be 'revenue related'. The huge majority...

PS3 Home Events Space, Air Race Leaderboards Live in Europe!

50°
294w ago - Sony's PlayStation Home has been updated in Europe for PS3, however, Sony hasn't actually told anyone... instead sneaking it out without anyone noticing. To quote:

The Red Bull Air Race space now features a few different aircraft that you can choose between before flying the course. There's also a leaderboard which shows the top flyers globally as well as your friends' best times.

The Events space is also now open and the PSP-3000 treasure hunt has begun. The Events space plays host to a new multiplayer minigame called Tri-Sphere and hidden around the Gallery section are six hidden numbers.

If you find these numbers and input them into the website (accessible via a wall terminal inside Home) you stand the chance of winning a real PSP-3000. There's no word on when/if these these things will come to Home in the US but we'll let you know as soon as Sony tells us we stumble across it.

Home continues to evolve, albeit at a slower pace than we expected. These additions are certainly pleasing, but don't quite raise the service to the next level. Yet.

Confirmed: No Red Bull Air Race on PlayStation Home This Year

50°
300w ago - Just before the weekend, TedTheDog has stated on the European PlayStation boards (linked above) that Red Bull's Air Race definitely won't appear in 2008.

To quote: Beta's are often difficult as everyone wants the new toy, whatever it may be, to work just as the vision portrays but as a beta things are being used in untried ways and things are bound to go wrong.

And the vision of Home is pretty exciting right? We know its a little bare right now and we've got some problems to solve, but they'll be solved and we can then move on to running it as the service we all want.

The reality is that we really are beta testing Home and we have to get these load related issues dealt with (and they can be dealt with.)

I'm very reluctant to give an ETA for the Red Bull Air Race as the very nature of what were doing here throws schedules sometimes (as you've seen) but it certainly will not be before the new year now. I know its irritating, but it really ought to be worth the wait, its really quite impressive and a lot of fun.
