Haze PSN Demo Has In-Game Friends List

50°
336w ago - Update: Apparently this isn't anything 'new' as PS3 online users are also reporting Army of Two, Burnout Paradise, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 have an In-Game Friends List as well as Resistance for well over a year now.

Watchful reader StevieK08 has alerted us to the fact that the new Haze Demo has an in games friend list. To see it, get to the main menu, hit triangle once, triangle a second time, and voila!, up pops the friends list.

We have not had a chance to verify but Steve attached a screen shot that appears to confirm his story. If you have the demo, please give it a try and let us know. Thanks!

Next Medal Of Honor: War On Terror?

50°
336w ago - Let's face it: Medal of Honor is an ailing franchise. What began as a phenomenon on the original PlayStation has declined into a series that boasts little more than average FPSs. Most will agree that the last truly great installments were Frontline for the PS2 and Allied Assault for the PC.

Since then, things seem to have gone downhill, and last year's Medal of Honor: Airborne didn't cut the mustard, either.

So when the chips are down, it's probably time to try something new. According to a portion of an EA survey, sent to us by a reader, and a variety of other sources, it seems Medal of Honor could be getting a drastic overhaul. Apparently, the survey focused heavily on a new concept EA is considering for their franchise, and it centers on what some may see as still-too-sensitive material: the current war on terror.

That's right, if this is true, you'll be seeking out Taliban and Al Qaeda terrorists in Afghanistan. The premise operates around a true-life 2002 coalition forces mission entitled, "Anaconda," and players will take control of Petty Officer First Class Neil Roberts, a Navy SEAL and a man charged with the difficult task of saving Anaconda from complete disaster. Here's a snippet from the survey:

"In March of 2002, coalition forces moved into Northern Afghanistan to...

PS3 Trophies coming via PSN as soon as June?

50°
336w ago - What with the continual delay for Sony's Playstation Home, the latest rumblings from the industry, and a mysterious report from Sony's inner circle confirms that we may be about to see a new PSN update for the inclusion of Xbox style achievements, through the form of Trophies.

According to this report, 2D trophies located on the PS3's XMB may launch this June with firmware version 2.4 (which should also introduce in-game XMB access). These trophies are reportedly different to the 3D ones set to feature in Home later this year.

Another report over on Kotaku substantiates the claim somewhat. It points to a Sony fact sheet about upcoming PSN title PixelJunk Eden, which shows that one of the game's "key features" will be "Trophy Support", although it's unclear exactly what this is.

This news may be of certain interest to many consumers interested in the rise of MGS4 next month, to coincide with a new update perhaps for in-game achievements. We will have to wait for June 12th to find out.

Silent Hill: Homecoming brings home several videos

50°
336w ago - We've got one video (directly below) and several more videos further down detailing different areas of Silent Hill: Homecoming.

While some may decry the game as an abandoned franchise by Team Silent, or a Me-Too title done by outsourced developers, you have to admit they've nailed the atmosphere pretty well. This is a Silent Hill game, but we can't really judge this type of game until it's been played through from beginning to bloody end.

Then thought about on a deep psychological level for several hours. Anyway, enjoy these videos, featuring lots of nurses and lots of dogs, then let us know what you think.
