Updated: 17 Videos Direct from PS3 Home Beta

50°
337w ago - Update: Based on feedback received we wanted to clarify that HDR did not shoot these videos or have any part in their creation. They were sent to us anonymously out of the blue and are hosted at Photo Bucket, a popular file sharing website.

That said, Home is coming along nicely and we keep our fingers crossed its availability for everyone will be sooner rather than later. If you've applied for the next round of Beta testers, good luck!

We have a special treat for you this morning thanks to a generous anonymous tipster who put a lot of effort into what you're about to see.

The following videos were taken from the original Playstation Home Beta and the just-updated expansion. The newer videos are towards the top, including the trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as watched in the Home movie theater.

It should be noted that each "area" of Home such as the movie theater, game room and so on must be downloaded separately when entering them for the first time. At approximately 50MB per area this could take a serious chunk out of one's hard drive.

With any luck we'll have some more first-look Home footage to share in the near future. Until then, enjoy the whopping 17 videos of Playstation 3's Home Beta in action.

Sony rising: PS3 opens up lead on Xbox 360 in July

50°
337w ago - The July NPD sales numbers have been released, and as always, Nintendo dominates in every way, while Microsoft and Sony battle it out for a distant second place. The industry continues to see large growth year over year, with a 35 percent jump in sales for the year to date, and an impressive 48 percent jump in software sales alone. With the large difference between the sales of Nintendo's hardware and software and its two main competitors, one could easily make an argument that Nintendo is to be thanked for much of that growth.

Nintendo
The Nintendo Wii sold 555,000 units in July, while the Nintendo DS sold 608,400 units. While this may look like a dip from last month due to the number of weeks in July, it's still much higher than anyone else on the charts. Games for Nintendo's platforms also make up five of the top ten slots in the software sales, with Wii Fit taking the number two slot with 369,600 units sold, Guitar Hero: On Tour taking the number three slot with 309,700 units sold, Wii Play coming in at number four with the 284,000 units sold, Mario Kart Wii taking the seventh place with 174,500 units sold, and Rock Band for the Wii coming in at number eight with 165,800.

Nintendo properties continue to sell amazingly well, and the Wii version of Rock Band is the only version on the...
