Video: Gears Of War 3: Ashes to Ashes Trailer & Box Art Arrive

400°
244w ago - Epic's Cliff Bleszinski debuted the first cinematic trailer for Gears of War 3: Ashes to Ashes for the XBox 360 on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

The title is tentatively slated to arrive on consoles around April 8, 2011.

To quote: "Gears 3 is packing all sorts of new hotness, including those recently leaked tentacle-having, mutating Lambent Locusts, (you might remember the ending of Gears 2, and a certain Brumak...).

In the new game there's an even greater threat called The Lambent, and it's these kind of crazy tenticle monsters that can mutate while you're fighting them.

Double barrelled shotguns, a beard-wearing (apparently) Dom Santiago, female COG soldiers... it's looking a treat. Such a dreary, ash-filled world Sera has become. We should get a even better look at the game during E3 in June."

PowerMad Review: God of War III for the PlayStation 3

550°
245w ago - First Impression: After three years of waiting, I was excited to finally bring home the long awaited God of War 3. I took the disc out of the case, put it into my PlayStation 3 gaming console, and was very impressed with the opening video.

After watching the events leading up to God of War 3 unfold in a stylistic silhouette art type, I was immediately drawn into the game play. I was impressed with the art style, graphics, and game play. I began thinking what to rate the game right away; based on the opening.

After a few moments of awe, I placed the game at a 9.9 and almost rated it 10 (If it wasn't for a really bad audio clip). However that 9.9 has since changed. After the first few minutes of playing the game, and a few problems, my high 9.9 quickly came down.

The battle with the water horse at the beginning of the game fed my long awaited God of War fix. Not only was I fighting on the back of mother earth, but I was fighting gods on the back of mother earth, while the terrain constantly changed. One time I actually had to fight the water horse upside down, which is pretty difficult if you don't know what you're doing.

A little further down the line, you actually get to see Aries again in his ice encased...

XBox 360 Dashboard Ad Reveals Gears Of War 3 Hits in April 2011

50°
245w ago - Somebody at Microsoft appears to have flicked a switch a little early, with an advertisement appearing on the Xbox 360 dashboard tonight for Gears of War 3.

There's the trademark Gears of War logo, and a tagline that reads "The epic story concludes April 2011".

To quote: The ad appears to have jumped the proverbial gun, with the official reveal of the game not expected to have taken place until an appearance from Epic's Cliff Bleszinski on the Jimmy Fallon show on Monday night.

He of course was supposed to have been on the show, well, last night, but his appearance was pulled at the last minute. Guess somebody forgot to pass that onto the Xbox 360's ad team!

Despite the lack of an official reveal, it's already been rumoured that the third game in the Xbox 360 shooter series will feature franchise firsts like like underwater combat and mech suits.

300°
245w ago - Today Associate Producer William Weissbaum has shared an exclusive God of War III music video interview dubbed 'Even Gods Cry' on the PlayStation Blog.

To quote: With the recent release of the God of War III Ultimate Edition, many of you, when not busy swinging those double deadly Blades of Chaos, have been rocking nonstop to the sounds of the God of War: Blood & Metal album.

One of the tracks in particular has been gaining rapidly in popularity, "Even Gods Cry" by [Register or Login to view links]. With its haunting melody and thoughtful lyrics, it's no wonder that it has many fans tapping their feet and scratching their heads.

After much pleading and begging Matthew Cappiello and Noah Belson, the illusive Turtlenecks themselves, agreed to allow the PS.Blog to have the world exclusive premiere of the "Even Gods Cry" music video.

Better yet they were kind enough to sit down with me and answer a few questions providing some true insight to the men behind the music.

What Inspired you to write "Even Gods Cry"?

Noah Belson: What inspired DaVinci to paint The Last Supper? Or Mike Angelo to take brush to the Sistine...
